Has anyone here tried it out? If so, how have you done with it?


It feels super scammy to me. I've seen stories of sellers putting the same item back up for auction if they aren't happy with the price it settles on the first time. eBay has been pushing it really hard lately though (because they don't wanna lose market share) so maybe it'll get better over time.


Honestly I can't wait for this trading card fad to die down.

I think there was another thread from Aug or July where a member was discussing about being invited for eb live participation.

Anyhow, I kind of feel that the buyers this "live" draws will be the impulsive type...meaning those that buy but then regret their purchase, resulting in returns and, of course, stories of items not selling at the price the sellers want because it's "live" and being pushed to finish now, now, now.

Trading card fad may never die down though...

Guess we'll see where it goes. I got sucked into the trading card niche for a while a few years ago after an evening of drinking with a friend got me interested in Panini NFL cards. The first hobby pack I bought came with an autographed Tom Brady card that sold for a little over $900.


Panini knows what they're doing. I think they noticed that it was my first purchase and made sure I got a valuable pack. I bought a few more hobby packs after that but never came anywhere close to the first sale.


@ebay - no hard feelings, you guys. I'm sure the program will become more refined over time.
