Overnight eBay Sales FTW!!

Every morning when I wake up the first thing I do is grab my iPhone to see what sold while I was sound asleep. I just love getting sales overnight!! Anyone else have this daily morning routine?

ONE 01-21-2010 12:35 AM

Yeah my favorite is rolling over and checking my blackberry at like noon with one eye..... smiling then rolling back over and going to sleep:sleepy:

The one I hate is same scenario but seeing the paypal dispute email title scrolling across my email headers....

kingfish900 01-21-2010 12:50 AM

i do the same thing. before i go to bed. and when i wake up. over night sales are the best. nothing like waking up to money made. yes the horrid appearance of waking up to a paypal dispute is the exact opposite. always get my heart thumping all fast and blood pressure going.

x2ruff4u 01-21-2010 01:09 AM

I like the feeling just walking around or using the restroom knowing that im making money doing everyday things=P

411guru 01-21-2010 03:17 AM

I get text messages every time I sell something. I can make 500 easy when sleeping.

How much do they charge per text again? That's a good feature that I actually forgot about

kingfish900 01-21-2010 03:35 AM

dburnside 01-21-2010 09:05 AM

im the other way round, i stay up late playing xbox then sleep easy seeing my sales that night while i was playing with the xbox or the mrs ;)

kingfish900 01-21-2010 09:11 AM

what games you play on the box?

imjustme 01-21-2010 11:47 AM

The first thing I grab in the morning after sleep is my wife. But if your iPhone works for you, more power to you!

kingfish900 01-21-2010 12:05 PM

first thing i grab is a red bull with extra sugar, or what whatever chick wakes up next to me in the morning.

ivonnewun 01-21-2010 06:28 PM

How much do they charge per text and what's it called and where is it located? because I don't seem to find this method... :pout:

x2ruff4u 01-21-2010 11:31 PM

Yeah good question. How would you even go about doing this to one phone with multiple accounts. Probally would take a little time to figure it out for me. Just thought id asked.

kingfish900 01-21-2010 11:36 PM

few people are interested this, i myself was as well. still waiting to hear an answer or explanation from the poster one would be nice?

He may not be getting actual texts but maybe in the form of alerts that has a email stating something sold....I could be wrong...but with my blackberry it allows up to 10 email account attachments I think to tie in directly and then when you down load the google app on the blackberry you can add more gmail accounts I don't know the max on how many the google app will allow you.

So really you can monitor a lot of sales and questions from just one phone without logging into all these screen names.

I used to sit there and sign in and out of screen names all day checking sales and fixing problems. Now my phone lets me know when there is a problem where ever I go and saves me a ton of time. I got the blackberry 8330 btw.

does this not link your accounts though if you are opening up multiple email address's with ebay accounts ?

aking 01-22-2010 10:11 AM

Get an iPhone. I can monitor listing activity, check and answer questions via email on all of my ebay accounts.

no it won't link them.

I have all my paypal emails tied in and ebay emails tied into one phone but the phone keeps them separate by making their own icon's you can click on. I set it to vibrate or ring to notify me I have a email or text.

When I respond to someone's email it looks as though I am responding directly from that email account attached to the ebay account they are asking a question through.

The one problem I do have is when ebay members block their freaking email when they send questions or messages I then have to manually log into ebay and answer it cause my responses will get failure returned. So I put in my auctions if you ask a question or need help don't block your email or you won't get a response and it has worked ok so far.

ivonnewun 01-22-2010 02:07 PM

but will the accounts not be linked due to being all on the same phone.. so all being on the same i.p address ?? thats wat will link them the i.p ?

XTremepballerX 01-22-2010 03:46 PM

I was wondering that to like I have the eBay app and using an acc right now so if I use another one will they link?

411guru 01-22-2010 06:44 PM

There is an ebay app that sends text to you. I forgot the name but google it. Me, I added myself to my hotmail list and then connected to my phone. All can be done via hotmail. My phone alerts me when I get an email from myself. I have unlimited texts. This is sales from my own website not ebay tho.

How can you even sleep, getting 500 text messages a night? :D

x2ruff4u 01-24-2010 04:18 AM

Easy! A "Cha Ching" text alert sound! Having troubles sleeping? This will ease your mind to bed=]

First Edition 01-24-2010 09:55 AM

Getting your EMAIL only on a mobile will not link the account. Even if it's from different accounts. I have 12 gmail accounts pushed to my blackberry with a gmail mobile application. I'm sure google most certainly links these together... but that doesn't matter.

Be smart. If you login to two different accounts from the phone to answer a question or check sales, this is like logging in from a computer. The difference being, it's hard to change your ip, and you can't delete flash cookies! (assuming your phone has adobe)

ivonnewun 01-25-2010 07:10 AM

Im not sure if i want to add my accounts to my blackberry, just incase they do get linked.. i have seperate usernames on my laptop so nothing is linked, but if i am replying to a number of ebay accounts from the same phone, i.e ...

i reply to (ebay account 1) by clicking reply on the email... then get another question on (ebay account 2) then i reply, will this not show a link as your on the same phone(so the ip will be the same) ?

First Edition 01-25-2010 09:22 AM

Blackberry email received text only. This serves two functions. One is to not bog down memory on your device, the other is for security. There are no images, or web beacons that could ever show up on your blackberry

A blackberry is the most secure form of communication via email. I most certainly would not reply via eBay messages from a blackberry, because you will have to connect to the browser in order to do so, but you can definitely do it to the persons email address.

You can have 10 different email address added to any blackberry, 11 if you include the free blackberry email address. You can manage independent signatures and rules for all of them.

I have a gmail application, which allows me to be able to add as many gmail accounts as I want to the phone, and still maintain the same tools as if they were pushed through the blackberry server.
