Hi all..

I am running a good few accounts at present, sometimes coming in with a few returns from the buyers, i use the same mailbox for all my accounts...

A buyer has threatened to give the address to trading standards..
What is the likelyhood of an investigation getting put in place?

look in the terms and conditions of your box, some say court order disclosure, others will give info to trading standards and police without it.

I take it we are talking counterfeit stuff type issue - very difficult to say, but if its just one complaint, the box may lead to a dead end for them, if they even check at all. I suggest you take whatever it is that is offending customer off ebay or wherever it is being sold, as it will point to you selling it in quantity. If it is an unwanted gift type, one-off scenario, being sold and that shows on your account ,then you are ok. Put it this way, they would have to put alot of resources in to all these minor infractions, and I guess they prefer easier targets, ie markets and other red-handed type scenarios..

burst would like this one - he suggests to get a hobo to sign up for a box for you! err no dont think so, bottom line is a box doesnt protect you for legal issues, just like being stealth or anon on ebay accounts, doesnt stop the feds from seeing it all on your hard drive, once theyve got your ip. If you are scamming people or seling F ake in largish quantities (which is NOT what this forum recommends) and there are several complaints re same address, there are issues. People like that need to up their game to getting a box without your real ID and forwarding it to an address that is accessible, yet not linked to you in anyway, all this is a tall order!

depends what item you sold them and if you refunded them the money
