I see a lot of "as seen on tv" items being sold on eBay. I thought about selling the Snuggie, but the profit margin wasn't worth it. I really think it depends on the product in question. If you were planning to sell things like the Snuggie, Magic Mirror, Slendertone Abs System, Steam Mops, InStyler hair straighteners, etc. Those are not VERO items from my knowledge and I think your main concern would be your competitors.

I'd probably stay away from the more popular and expensive "as seen on tv" products though as those might be a red flag. Products like the expensive workout systems the P90X, any BeachBody product, exercise machines, etc. I've heard some horror stories of people getting sued for selling just one P90X.

I'm no expert though I would just suggest staying under the radar for a few months and once you've established yourself as a seller of those products you can start cranking them out.

I also noticed these items aren't extremely popular on eBay without a good auction advertisement. The reason these products sell so well on TV is because people are easily swayed.

"Not sold in stores Jan because it's a piece of ----!"

Just an FYI... The Instyler Hair Straighteners use Johnson & Pham as their law firm.

Hard to make any money when the owners of that company sell on ebay themselves.

Some as-seen-on-tv stuff is fine. Especially if it is an older product. But stay away from the stuff sold on infomercials - particularly for anything that sells for a lot of money where the product is a collection of 10 dvd's. Those are highly counterfeited and Johnson & Pham represents most of those companies.

Johnson & Pham is VERY aggressive in hunting down people selling counterfeits of their client's products. If you list on eBay or Amazon, at some point one of their undercover buyers will make a purchase from you. When they receive the item and determine it is a counterfeit, you will receive a letter from them via US Mail or FedEx. The letter will explain that you have been caught selling counterfeits and they will demand money - usually a minimum of $1,500 - to go away. If you do not pay them, they are very likely to sue. They can sue in Federal court, so they do NOT have to file the lawsuit where you live - it will be filed in California. In order to defend yourself, you would have to hire an attorney there and maybe even show up in court to testify. If you ignore a lawsuit, the plaintiff will get a default judgment in the amount of whatever the plaintiff asks for.

It IS OK to sell as-seen-on-tv products, but you need to make sure they are genuine if you don't want problems.

Another thing that you may not think about when selling "as seen on tv" products is people wanting returns. I have not personally sold anything such as so, but I could easily see that be a problem, as everyone on there will think your backing the items as you sell it..
