Results of my phone call from ebay/paypal

Ebay sends me a note the other day saying that they missed me and to reply to this email within 48hrs with the time of day that would be good for me. Then they say they will call again within 72hrs.

I have been dreading this since I didnt know what they wanted to talk about. They said they needed to confirm some things with my eBay/Paypal account. I kept my phone by me 24hrs just so I wouldnt miss it. Anyway. the called finally.

The guy was super nice and just asked commented on how good I was doing which is about 3k on my 1st 3 weeks or so.(not bad for a couple hours a day. lol) He wanted to know if I had help, what my plans where by way of business or just after work type deal. I told him I was laid off and was doing it full time. he said that there were some kitchen items I had listed that I might watch out where I get them. I told him I go to sales and thrift stores to get my items. He just said to watch out because that did flag them due to the qty I had up at one time, which was 10 items identical. just told him I got them very cheap on a close out and that was all I had. He also said he would put some sort of limit on my sales after talking to me. He said would you be topping 3k in 10 days? I said "I wish". Then he just said if you feel your sales are going to grow to over than then I need to just drop them a line and let them know in an email and they will raise it. The phone call was really not bad and somewhat weird if you ask me. He basically just finished with do you have anything you need from us and that they are always there for questions. have a good day and all that stuff and it was over.

Anyway that was my phone call from ebay. I wanted to make sure everyone knows they may get one.

Why would he put a limit on your sales if your making them money and handling everything professionally? Smh. :mad2:
That's what ticks me off specially when I want to start making at least 2,000 a week.

How old and how many feedback does the account have?

This is why it's important to spread your sales across multiple accounts.

And like everyone says, start slow. 3 grand in three weeks is a lot of money, not surprised at all that they wanted to talk to you.

To defeat an enemy, you have to understand their way of thinking. Following that, you discover their weakness and take advantage of it.

Quite simply, it's because it's a matter of trust: the account has yet to be fully established as 'OK' by ebay. On the one hand, ebay likes the business but will curtail it until everything is going well.

If you are aiming for that amount of sales, then you out wit ebay.... not hard to do :spy:

You might want to spread the "wealth" across several accounts as stated and as they get established concentrate on one and put the others away for a rainy day

Everyone has me scared to death of starting another account with all these suspensions. I am afraid I would screw it up. I am sitting good with about 4k/month in sales right now. Its about half of what I would like to bring in but it will suffice. I will look into spreading it around several though. Thanks

well i just got a 48 hour limit on my new 30 day old ebay seller account saying I had to call Ebay within 48 hours or they would close my account at 1-800xxxxx. they then went thru that public records questions asking me which previous street name i lived on then gave 3 street names plus none of the above. i have been thru this before with my real info so i knew kind of what to say and i chose none of the above on both questions. she then said that i passed and will restore my account. So this maybe could be the next big Ebay thing.

ok just found the search feature and its called a MC010 GREAT!! so this is far worst than getting an email right? obviously!! yes i answer my own ?s. what? wanna go punk... yeah i didn't think so...

GreenBean 04-22-2010 11:46 PM

New trick of an MC010 (whatever) needs to be resolved within 48 hours or ebay is issuing an MC081. This implies a permanent suspension:fight:
