God Lord...another post from me...sorry in advance...buyer asking to ship to US add..

I have a buyer interested one of my auctions and asked if I would consider shipping to canada.....this is not something I want to do...I am sticking to shipping only within the US when it comes to anything that deals with paypal. Anyhow, I told her this and she asked if I would ship to her friends US address. What should I do......would I be protected against an item not received dispute?? Thanks so much to all!

No you wouldn't,

If the buyer is really interested, have them add that U.S. address to their existing PayPal account.

Otherwise, tell them you will accept a money order and you will ship anywhere in the U.S. they request.

Thanks for the help! :) I figured I wouldnt be protected, so I emailed her back stating that the only way I could ship to a friend would be with a money order payment and that paypal doesnt allow shipping to an address that differs from the one that they have registered with them. I hate that I had to switch to shipping only within the US, I used to ship almost anywhere until OMG the item not received disputes kicked me in the ass. To easy for scams when shipping outside your own country, thanks to paypal's lovely policy!

I would tell her to have her friend make the payment for the item through her US Paypal and then she can pay her friend for the item that way she can still use Paypal

@cardfelon. No way. Why bring a third party into the equation? The next round of emails is my friend said they did this and I say you should have done this and what will you do now and gee this is getting very complicated so let's forget about the whole deal.
Best rule of thumb is simple easy transaction with few complications. This is a stealth account so mess is bad :ranger:

I get these buyers almost daily and politely tell them as per my listing I do not ship to Canada.

The less issues you have like this hanging around the better.

We all want smooth hassle free sales. :)
