What are people's thoughts on the gallery feature?
 

The normally 35 cents, often given for free, gallery feature in listings.

Is it worth the 35 cents if you're listing things under $30? Does it help sales at all?

Do most buyers have dial-ups so they have pictures off and those not even load the galleries?

Does having no gallery encourage people to view your listings just to see the picture of the item?

i think it helps. i put it for every item, even cheap ones.

HI- If you are selling items ebay considers high risk, without the Gallery i think may hinder the vero take down? i.e. even Authentic Roelx box/case from the 1970's-80's, taken down twice, vero. then reinstated on 1 acct-then relisted on new acct-no gallery- item stayed up for 7 day auction- brought $156.. Maybe/ Maybe not coincidence??

Have trialed over the years with gallery and other features and the prices attained were a marked improvement, as to what was attained without

It also depends on your product to if it is VISUAL / LOOK or IMAGE type of product gallery is essential
ie
a 7" record issued in another country with different picture sleeve
a watch or ring
a tshirt
an old postcard

In additoin to this where i have a specific range i will try to have each gallery image in a set style,

ie everything listed on a red background

As if no other seller is doing this your RANGE of items you have listed and shown via the gallery will automatcially be differentiated

I have had customers buy multiple items from me in auctions where i have adopted this practice

For things that are ' CORE / STOCK / GENERIC ' items where the title explains exacting what you get i would not be so bothered to pay the additional fee for gallery

A generic standard issue CD album

I'm really glad they are doing this right now. I mean, its right in time for Christmas! Great way to make some money before we spend it all, right?

Definitely helps. I always use it for my core product line.
