selling hair straighteners?

is it considered high risk to sell chi hair straighteners on ebay??? with like 5 feedbacks....?????

TGMT² 03-15-2010 08:53 PM

Its 'VERY RISKY' to sell those with 1000's of feedbacks.

GreenBean 03-15-2010 09:00 PM

You'll get some much grief you'll have no hair.Would want not to sell any then;)

They are most active in take-downs.

aribragin 03-15-2010 09:02 PM

hmmm how come there over a 1000 items... i got a really good and cheap supplier...

GreenBean 03-15-2010 09:05 PM

'Cos there's a lot sellers doing that waiting to find out about a veRo take down. Then they can come join you here and moan about life:rolleyes:

aribragin 03-15-2010 09:06 PM

Very fast editing! I saw THAT!
:pound::lol:

cardfelon 03-15-2010 09:12 PM

It's not going to happen. You may sell one or two but it won't last long. If you see someone who has sold several thousand of them it most likely is Chi themselves using a different user id. Some companies sell their own product on Ebay using different user ids

Coz he's your cuzin and not you? How long has the account been going? How long do your accounts last? C'mon, ari. We do this every few months with you.
You ask about an item. You get good opinions. You say yes but and OK. Then go do whatever you want....I'm adding this to my list.

I'll try one last time: a brand new account selling what are more than likely foo-foo CHI or phake or whatever they are to be called will have troubles.
the items break, they dont work and the buyer gets annoyed. Then paypal gets annoyed. then you get annoyed and then.....:peace:

lol i guess your right....but im not familular with how fast they break or how good they work...all i know is that they ''look good''
and my cuzin ha a few hundred feedbacks not to bad...he gave me the connect but i wanna know what im getting myself into before trying to do this thing....

aribragin 03-15-2010 09:26 PM

im trying to move on to something else that can be good sorta all year round....my item is only good for ...winter... and summer is right around the corner.... im trying to get myself into something else to sell thats all....
i use to make a killing with nikes but its hard to do that because they limit you after 5 items and than you have to wait 30 days to have that limit lifted... its a pian..

TGMT² 03-15-2010 09:34 PM

^^^^

Maybe you can get a few from your cousin and give it a whirl without a huge commitment from a supplier.

Not that I want you to succeed, selling fa kes turns buyers against eBay and that ultimately hurts all our businesses.

aribragin 03-15-2010 09:35 PM

i guess i can give it a try...

philly387 03-15-2010 09:40 PM

And you see why no one wants to help you....

not sure what you mean by that...i never pissed nyone off here... just trying to get into details...
:noidea:

cardfelon 03-15-2010 10:33 PM

Curious as to why you are asking everybody's opinion? I mean if your cousin is selling them and hasn't had any issues at all and you think its a good idea wouldn't you take your cousins advice over a bunch of people over a forum? Seems kinda silly to me

GreenBean 03-15-2010 11:20 PM

@cardfelon. Because this is the delight that is aribragin. Will not matter what is said, he will go do what he wants. Part and parcel of forum life:yar:

It's risky to sell just about anything with 5 feedback, probably the best thing to sell is cheap used junk until you get to around 50 and even then it's risky unless you spend 10 hours a day or more with dozens of accounts and take notes then you can learn how to rise above the risk.

PatricioNut 03-16-2010 03:16 AM

Boxsets Risky?

jbluntz 03-16-2010 07:21 AM

Pretty much unless you have a decent selling history established, you can still get away with it but you may just have your listing removed and get suspended pretty quick if you're not careful.
