Default USPS wont update and worried about a potential scamer

I sold something that usually people only buy one, I never sold multiples but this person bought 3, I just thought maybe for friends? what can I do, I can not refuse to sell and ship beacuse I have a feeling. I tend to check up on what I sold and shipped to make sure the arrive or it says delivered, how ever I had this happen to me before as a buyer, today it says it has Processed through Sort Facility at 2:30 am, the facility is there local one, the one closet to them. I have a really bad feeling something bad is going to happen. I shipped it with paypal and used usps. This had happen to me and I didnt care. But what if this guy decides to say he never got it and starts opening up claims. Since he bought 3 and there expensive items and even worse multiplied by 3. I know they got it today, the people just forgot to scan it. I sometimes regret shipping with usps but ups is soo slow for ground and I dont want low dsr's and negative feedback for shipping time. I hate when items are shipped to me with ups. Has this happen to anyone before, and if he opens claims as never received what can I do.

Many thanks in advance.

If it scanned at 230 am, maybe the receving station didn't scan it in then out for delivery, wait until the end of the business day today and wait for USPS to update there site, around 8pm or so.

You'll be find, just be patient.

USPS is more reliable than UPS or FedEX. The most secure way to ship is to use delivery confirmation and insurance. Your item is likely OUT for delivery today.

If you sell expansive items, it is better not to list more than 1 item at a time just so no one can buy more than one. Also don't offer to combine shipping, so in the event that they still buy more than one of your items, you have separate delivery confirmations.

Thats one of the most hilarious things I have ever read in my life. FedEx and UPS tracking systems are hands down above and beyond the Post Office by miles. USPS updates tracking twice a day, UPS or FedEx updates the minute a change is made.

My question is if you had a feeling about it upfront that they may claim they didn't receive it or they are really expensive and you were determined to ship via USPS why not add the signature confirmation to the shipment? That way you have proof it was signed for and that will hold up to Paypal. I always ship my high value items with signature confirmation. The one time you get scammed out of $300 you may change your shipping options.

To the OP:

I have had USPS not updating on me many times. Too many to count.

Believe it or not, I have not had almost zero non-receipt problems. Eventually, it finally updates, especially if you get the FIRST update from the post office you shipped from. Since said you got the sorting update, I think you'll be fine. If you shipped via priority, odds are usually even better of getting there.

Regarding the "bad" feeling about the sale itself, well, that's a completely different animal all together. I stopped selling expensive items on ebay ever since ebay/PP basically made it a buyer's scam paradise. I don't sell anything over +/- $100 now. It's just not worth it for me. When a buyer can open a claim, return an empty box and still get their money back , the good risk/reward just sux.

Obviously you don't ship many items. I don't know anyone who does substantial business on ebay that DOES NOT use USPS.

Who cares about tracking, I want my item to get there in 2-3 business days and show that it was delivered. Only USPS will do that at a fraction of the cost. But you are welcomed to your ill informed opinion. If you want tracking, get US Express Mail. Delivery Confirmation does what it was designed to do, give you delivery confirmation. However, USPS will usually scan mail at each processing center anyway.

In the other side of the world, it's a whole different situation. I can't tell you how much Canadapost sucks! There fastest delivery option is 2-3 days..and costs alot! I usually ship items to the USA and delivery time is 6-12 days but it comes with tracking at least. Anways, least of my complaining.
