| | | dearebayusuck | 03-22-2010 12:25 PM | today is my lucky day...a friend sold me his pre 11/07 acct After being with that stupid Mc010 (which I'm still determined to fight) I got a little lucky...a friend has given me access to her Pre 11/07 acct.
not very high in the feedback but its pre 11/07
and I just want to know how long do you guys think its appropriate to wait before I can sell some of these electronics I have sitting around the house...should I buy a few items and build some feedback? will there still be 21 day holds in paypal?
the feedback right now is a 4...how many feedbacks do you guys feel is ideal before I can sell sell sell? |
| cardfelon | 03-22-2010 12:50 PM | When was the last time the account was used? If it has been a year or so they may think the account was hijacked so it may be smart to buy some things over the course of a few weeks before trying to list a bunch of stuff |
| jbluntz | 03-22-2010 12:56 PM | You need at leasy 20 selling feedback before the hold goes away and don't think that you're that lucky because the account can go down after listing your first item so be careful, take it slow. |
| philly387 | 03-22-2010 02:24 PM | Has it been a seller account since nov-07? That is the only benefit to the pre-nov 07 accounts. |
| kevinxu | 03-23-2010 06:54 PM | the best thing of pre 11/07 us accounts is you dont have to use paypal.if you use paypal and you will still get 21 hold when you start selling cos it depends on your feedbacks and the items you sell. There is really no exact how many feedbacks you need. Its much better to start buying a few stuffs and start selling after a couple weeks. If you use properly, the old account would be much better than newer ones. You can pm me if you have any more questions. |

(where they ask to verify your identity) |

| bmwsouthside | 04-15-2010 07:34 PM | Remember Nobody is immune even on old accounts** The days of getting grandfathered in are over in my opinion with some exceptions. maybe im wrong but read this.
ok guys, I have obtained 2 accounts both pre 07.
I need to reorganize I see after reading this.
account 1 with 2 feedback was limited right after I tried to withdraw $375 paypal reversed it and limited me and told customers they cant pay me. ebay is limited too now from listing. asking for documents etc..its all legit from a friend so we sent documents yesterday. what should i do with addresses because the friend moved and license doest match and alternate address they dont remember. what should I do/not do? After reading this I think I moved too fast but thought old account was okay to carry on as normal. its NOT! THIS ACCOUNT WAS MADE IN 2005
account #2 is up and running fine selling a mixture of electronics, vero, cameras, shoes, adidas clothing, etc. about 10 items at a time. do I need to continue to take paypal because they have put a 21 day hold on both cameras ($400 bin & $700 auction format) I sold last week and I need the money for something else. Did I move too fast?maybe but THIS ACCOUNT WAS MADE 2002
I have not logged into none of these accounts on my old ip addresses. always logged in when traveling at hotels or friends house or public computers.
Looks like all the rules have changed. nobody is immune! I thought once I got these accounts I would be home free. Looks like I still have to be very careful so any help would be appreciated. I dont want to screw this up. I know how hard it is to get these old accounts. |

I have obtained 2 accounts pre 07 and its still no cakewalk. im walking on egg shells so far until I can get into a good groove and know for certain im ok and can put my foot on the gas. |
| bmwsouthside | 04-15-2010 07:40 PM | IMPORTANT! THE HOLD DOES NOT GO AWAY UNTIL EBAY SAYS IT GOES AWAY..IM GETTING 21 DAY HOLDS ON ACCOUNT #2 THAT I HAVE HAS 100% POSITIVES WITH 30 FEEDBACKS. Maybe I dont have enough dsr yet? |
| OfficialGenius | 04-15-2010 07:59 PM | You need at least 20 DSRs. |
| Ghost | 04-15-2010 10:46 PM | bmwsouthside,
How long had that pre-07 account been inactive before you got it? If there's been absolutely no activity on it for a long time and then suddenly boom - an address/email/ip change, etc, and then a bunch of sales - then yeah of course they'll limit it. |

| Ghost | 04-16-2010 05:41 PM | That's probably what did it. |
| kevinxu | 04-17-2010 11:30 PM | remember as i said in earlier post the paypal hold policy depends on your feedbacks, your sale history, the items you sell and your paypal transaction history,NOT the age of your ebay account.
The best thing of pre 11/07 is you dont have to use paypal and you dont have to fax docs to use merchant account. Also pre 11/07 accounts could get more hits from ebay.
ppl who got troubles normally because they try to sell in hurry.Start slowly is the key. Quote:
