OMG! Psycho Seller PLEASE HELP!

Ok...this is completely crazy! This is a follow up to my post about the seller who sent me an empty envelope! I got an email from her I am sure it was her by the way.....one email said from mynamemyfullrealname@hotmail.com.....it was my full REAL name then the @ sign then hotmail.com....all it had on there was MY full REAL name and my husbands name! Now I recently got married and she has my maiden name on there, but whatever, as of right now that is still my name because I didn't change it yet. then I get 4 separate emails back to back spelling out YOU ARE A LOSER each email containing one word! This person is crazy and a little comical obviously, however how do I handle this being that I have a stealth account?????? Thanks!

needhelpplease 03-26-2010 01:52 AM

Oh, and the email that had my and my husbands name had our ages next to our names and our city and state.....what the hell?

GreenBean 03-26-2010 02:08 AM

What can you do (reasonably) now on a stealth account?
That $50 purchase was so not worth your pains.

oops, re-read it. The info is in your real stuff? Had you brought from the seller before?

OfficialGenius 03-26-2010 02:12 AM

If I were you I would've been pinned her account and ended her eBay career.:ranger:

No, I never purchased from this seller before, It was an obvious look up of info online, but how did she get that when there is a cell phone number and po box attached to my ebay/paypal account?

needhelpplease 03-26-2010 02:18 AM

Oh and now she did an unpaid item thing on me which I never had

jamblix 03-26-2010 03:28 AM

Haha what a psycho, that is a weird position to be in

If it were me I would just ignore it, but if your e-mail is getting crowded with nonsense that's effecting your business I'd threaten him with some kind of action. If they still don't stop than I'd take it to the streets or have eBay shut-em down if you have evidence.

apple6 03-26-2010 08:51 AM

Wow that is crazy, but I believe that you as the buyer has way more power over the seller because I believe eBay always rules in favor with the buyer no matter what. If she did the unpaid item dispute then you can appeal the dispute as long as you give eBay proof that you bought it such as a paypal receipt or give them an email as proof that you had the intent on buying her item. If you are also trying to get your money back because she is sending empty envelopes and boxs then you can easily open a case with eBay and they will automatically refund you the original price plus shipping if you paid with their approve method. I wonder if her account has been hacked or something because she can't get away with this.

I do know that some people on ebay like to do this. I have had several little subtle email threats and some more severe threats over the years.

99% of these are empty threats as some people feel tough behind a computer. They usually think they are quite skilled when they spent at least 20 minutes collating your data, and to be fair they already have a head start as you would have had your real address for the item to be posted to.

The best advice I can give you is do nothing. I doubt there will be any follow up. The chances are that if you react more subtle emails may be forthcoming.

The truth is there are really not that many psycho's out there and self preservation prevents the majority of the populous in doing anything more than sending some subtle emails. I do know that when you get one they can concern you a bit.

Dont worry, the person is just annoyed because you counteracted their plans and got your money back and they are probably a bit sore.

The other thing a dedicated digruntled ebayer can do is spent another 20 minutes signing you up for lots of spam. I had someone sign me up for a whole lot of Russian porn once and the masterstroke was that as I cant read Russian it took me a while to suss out how to unsubscribe.

Is the cell phone in your real name? Are you using dba for your business?

I need to add that something made the seller figure out that your public information did not match something, so she decided to figure out who you really were. I guess your stealth account is not really all that stealthy.

GreenBean 03-26-2010 06:11 PM

@riversnew, you hit the nail on the head, I reckon. In the thread below, needhelpplease said she'd phoned the seller. I'd say the call was made from a phone that did not have the ID hidden....and this is the result
stealth is just that, takes a bit of getting your head around it...:peace:

You are right GreenBean! :) I did call off the phone that was used to register/verify whatever the ebay account. It is a prepaid cell phone, so I am still not sure how this person got the info. It is in my hubby's name anyhow. Plus my not-so-stealthy account is set up with just one letter off my real name so I figured it wasnt to hard to figure out, but still I went to yahoo, google typed in both versions of my name and nothing even remotely related to me came up in the searches. I did go to whitepages.com (great resource by the way) and although my info did come up, it wasnt the info the person sent me, nothing on my hubby did come up at all. I dont know it is weird. I kind of blew it off anyhow. I didnt reply and nothing has happened since. Dont know exactly what this person CAN do, but my only real worry was the ebay/paypal account as I do most cherish it,lol!

GreenBean 03-26-2010 07:39 PM

If it is a pre-paid cell phone why is there a name attached to it? In the future I would suggest purchasing a Tracphone at Big Lots or Walmart. You can activate it online without revealing any info at all. The phones are only $8 at Big Lots and come with 20 minutes on them

Real info is attached to it because we really use that phone. It is an AT&T phone. I am still curious as to they even found that info out anyhow. I know it definitely seemed like one of those reverse phone lookup info that would come up. I dont know!

cardfelon 03-27-2010 11:35 AM

Well in the future for any stealth account you need to get a completly untraceable cell phone that is only used for the Ebay account so people can' t figure out who you are
