Will this work?

So I have said "Vero" item.

I will only sell one of this said item per day with a one day auction.

I have purchased the authentic item, which look exactly the same, and taken pictures. This also gives me a receipt if the rights owner removes my item.

I'll add that I've had a few violations on this account before.

Thanks for the advice!

Many people have tried this and it may work for awhile it won't last forever. A few things to consider to make it last longer.

1. Make it a private listing so if the VERO member looks at your feedback history they won't see that you've sold the same item 10 times in the last two weeks.

2. Don't use the same listing every time. You need to use completly different listings with different photos. You can rotate them about every 10th listing. If the same VERO member sees the same listing everyday they are going to report you.

3. Maybe set your listings a few days apart and not everyday and you may get more mileage out of it.

Keep in mind these tricks may not last forever and since you said the account already has violations on it you should already have backup accounts ready to go because Ebay will shut you down for multiple violations.

Hope this helps

I planned of rotating photos and taking new ones as well.

I like the private thing. How do I do this?

thanhho93 03-29-2010 01:50 PM

Yes! Please tell us how to list it in private listing.

cardfelon 03-29-2010 02:21 PM

It simple. When you are creating your listing there is a box that you can check to make it a private listing.

chrisapowers1 03-29-2010 03:35 PM

I'll look into this. Thank you for the advice.

Private listings can also get your items pulled sometimes....

chrisapowers1 03-29-2010 09:13 PM

I couldn't even find where to make my listings private.

First Edition 03-29-2010 09:22 PM

It's in option you click on when editing the details of the listing. You can also check it in auctiva, and turbo lister.

I just wanted to give an update:

This is working well. No issues so far. I should make stealth accounts now to sell more.

stealthpirate 04-18-2010 11:46 AM

In what situations would you get a private listing pulled faster than a public listing. How common is private listings being pulled. Anyone can go into detail about this??? Thanks

Isparana 04-18-2010 12:01 PM

Do you return the "Real" jerseys after the pictures?

Many thanks....

smartyjones312 04-18-2010 03:37 PM

You can return the real merchandise after you have taken photos of it and the receipt. Just make sure that you return it to the store within the time frame of their return policy

Excellent post.

I might add that misspelled listings help as well.

Private listings are really used for expensive things where sellers don't want their buyers molested by people trying to scam them with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ second offers, or trying to offer the same goods to them for less money, etc. I have run auctions for utility trailers, a real Rolex, etc. and made them private. If you use private auctions for lower priced things (as in under $100 or so) it just looks suspicious as if you are trying to hide something. This is apparently a known technique for hiding vero etc. by not allowing others to contact your bidders or seeing what your real selling history is.

Just my 2 cents.

Just my 2 cents.

There are several logical reasons to list privately only.

1. Protect your customers from spam/scams.
2. Keep your competitors in the dark.
-All kinds of info can be used to outsell you or worse.
3. Keep customers in the dark.
-They hate to see that they paid 70 bucks for something that someone else got for 40. It could cause unnecessary negatives, or customers demanding discounts.
4. Keep Vero out of your business
5. Keeps your listings from getting a undeserved bad reputation.
-Example: Buyer runs scam that did not work and says "item arrived broken" Well, if no one can see what the item was, no one will have a reason to doubt the products they buy from you.

Bottom line. I don't know about you, but I don't want anyone keeping tabs on me. I watch some sellers just to add up how much they made in a week in sales. I don't plan on giving anyone the license to do that to me.

To say that eBay looks at sellers who use private listings exclusively as scams is ridiculous.

I stand corrected. So you run all your listings as private and you haven't received any extra scrutiny? Do you have a price point at which you will run them private, as in over a certain dollar amount? Thanks for the info!

chrisapowers1 04-21-2010 09:21 PM

Update: Account went down today.

Here's what I did:
-1 day auction
-Same product, same photo, same description
-Auction started at $0.99
-I only used one photo, and it was the photo of the actual authentic product that I own.
-I have no previous selling history of said item.
-I only sold 1 of said items once a day for about 6 or 7 days.

The rights owner reported this item as counterfeit. However, the photo is of the real deal. It's complete bull**** if you ask me. They caught on fast, not even enough time for any of the products to reach customers. Therefore, I know I didn't send the item to the wrong person.

I'm seriously about to get out of the game. My Amazon and eBay accounts both go down this week. What did I do wrong?

chrisapowers1 04-21-2010 09:24 PM

I don't even know why I'm not stating what the item is...

I sell CHI flat irons. The things are spot on, sell amazingly, and have a huge margin on the price I can get them at. I also sell GHD, which is another flat iron that's much more expensive. I started selling these because I fell on the ground laughing when my girlfriend told me how much she payed of hers.

I usually get 50-60 on each one of these, and they retail for around 150.

aribragin 04-21-2010 09:40 PM

thaTS THE PROBLEM THEY RETAIL 150 DOLLARS AND YOUR SELLING THEM FOR 50-70 DOLLARS...THEY ARE NOT STUPID... I WAS GOING TO SELL THIS PRODUCTS TOO UNTILL I ASKED PEOPLE AROUND HERE HOW HAIR IRONS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO SELL...NOTICE THE PEOPLE WHO SELL THEM ARE ALL POWERSELLERS WITH 1000+ FEEDBACK... I HAVE ALOT OF THOSE WEBSITE WHERE THEY ARE SHIPPED FROM CHINA...

chrisapowers1 04-21-2010 09:45 PM

That price is just where the market takes them. There are so many being sold on various marketplaces that the entire market has been brought down.
