Money Orders
 

Just a quick question, is it safe to accept money orders from ebay members? Are there any scams that i should be watching out for? I usually don't accept money orders but a person that has won on one of my items and is saying he has no paypal account since its suspended or something and wants to send a money order... The weird thing is he is bidding again on the same item which I re-listed again and also bidding on a couple different items of mine...

It just seems there is something fishy since his account is less than 30 days as well...

BTW I am from Canada, whats the best money order to accept if I should accept it...

HI- JUst make sure its NOT your friendly COmpetitor.. I had mine bid on my items, never paid, bu left NEG fb. Also, they want your address, to turn you into ebay for being linked to old suspended acct.. Just be careful, I've had them play all kinds of tricks on me--(actally these folks have taught me alot)--somethings they do are better than tv... :) even my kids laugh when i get that empty box in th email, supposed to be a 2 pound watch or something, or a completely flat white envelope, with tracking- supposed to be a pair of shoes or a briefcase... :))

its actually safer than paypal, since they cant scam you...its like they are sending you cash... safest of them all i say. make sure it clears and money gets to your hands before shipping out though.

Boy- u huys are brave- I'm very weary of m.o.- guess its just me. I've already deposited, then to get a notice in mail 2 wks later- stop pyt placed, m.o. claimed lost// so bank takes funds from my acct, then charges me $5 fee.

i thought money orders are same as cash? how can they place a stop payment when it was made out in your name?

I takes MO and checks with no problems. My bank take 1 day to clear both payment types. I always thought checks take a week but the teller told me its all electronic now. She told me that once posted, Its OK..

I know CC and PP are the easiest however there are some people who still like to pay using checks. I would take cash if they sent it to me. :)
