ebayhateluv, i said at least 12 hours. sometimes i do put in 16 or more. plus i am doing a tattoo apprenticeship as well. no kids, but a bunch of cats and dogs i have to take care of. i think kids would be way too hard right now.

Before being suspended and then banned in March, we were making $6000-$8000 a month. When we created a new account that only lasted a month before being banned, it only made about $3000.

I find it amazing, as well as get a little bit of hope, hearing that being forced to create new accounts has actually been a benefit to some of you.

What's everyone's secret to making that much money?

jscan 05-11-2008 08:37 PM

staying on the grind yo! lol

GreenBean 05-11-2008 08:39 PM

jonas, I truly think that some of these replies are stories. But that's me as I have taken
my cynical pills today. ROFL.

ebayhateluv 05-11-2008 09:21 PM

$49.99 item, 13 sales/day, x mon-thurs= 52 sales,
fri,sat= x 18 sales, sun= x 22 sales,
Thats what.. 110 sales, x $50= $ 5,500.00 per week off just 1 item... x 4 .3 weeks= $22000/month/ +/-== Its really not hard...

ebay-sucks 05-11-2008 10:35 PM

Since we are running two accounts now and had a very busy end of the month and first week we have exceeded our goals by 10 fold and sales are unreal.
We hit 1397.00 profit on sales from Saturday alone on these two accounts.
You get what you put into it, and if you have a good profit I really believe you can make unlimited amounts.
We are working on running 4-5 accounts at a time and can see the sales/profits to hit this almost daily. Christmas season would probably triple that.
A friends of ours sells hand made jewelry on ebay and tells me she can make 1000 profit per week if she gives the effort.

Most likely VEROS

ebayhateluv 05-12-2008 10:13 AM

Hi- disagree...Both Ebay-sucks + I have been on the Bay since puberty..;) I don't sell ⊗⊗⊗⊗ + neither does he...We sell collectibles,So my secret really is-a lot of hours+ buying when u find deals-even if u gotta max out your cards-buy it+ store it- It will sell eventually..I'm selling goods now I bought 2-3 yrs ago...

ebay-sucks 05-12-2008 03:55 PM

I do not agree either. I have been on ebay since 1995 and was one of the first to ask them to put my biggest seller section in so people wouldnt have to hunt for it. They didnt even have the section I sell in then and didnt for months after begging them to make the changes.

I have never sold a vero that I listed on purpose. the only thing I have had pulled is a Mark McGwire group of autographs when the steriod filled loser whined about people making money on his name.

We work very hard, sometimes almost 20 hours per day looking for something to resell, listing, packing and email answering. I can remember working 24 hours in a row with no sleep once in late 1990's because we sold so much that the two of us couldnt pack it all. Of course that was then and this is now and things change but if we had to we would be right there doing it again or paying help. I built a 24 x 60 building on my property just to do ebay from with a restroom and kitchen and we didnt leave the building for 24 hours in a row and many 16-20 hour days then too.

You get out what you put into it, if people want to be lazy and think you are going to make a ton of money by just doing nothing it is not going to happen.

Too many people are willing to go the extra mile and get ahead of you.

There usually is not one single day I am not buying something to resell. I buy housefulls of goods, go to auctions, bid online, buy on ebay when something is in the wrong category ( happens allot! ), buy from individuals, hit the thrift stores daily where you can find some awesome items cheap for a quick profit.
Just bought a lunchbox today at a goodwill store for 4.95 and it will sell in the 300-400 range easily.

So no, there are tons of ways to make money on ebay without selling veros.

Again, you get out of it what you put into it and I find that many people who are not successful on ebay is because they do not want to do the legwork to be successful.

I do beleive the figures here. I was in college fulltime making $1500+ a week. So if you are doing not making at least $XXX a week you are wasting your time. What have you been doing on eBay al this time?

importracer150 05-13-2008 09:41 AM

the secret is think big to make big!!

u think small, u will make small

I used to sell nintendo wii, and ps3 systems on ebay. And made around 2000-3500 a week

Bought my own website now, dont used ebay much anymore.

made $20000 last week on my website. My friend helped me design the video game website and had to sign up with godaddy.com to get a domain name and hosting service. And the site was up within 5 minutes. Signed up with Google adwords.com, and put in the right keywords and Title in and it resulting in more clicks to my site!

sold 80 wiis last week!!

80 x 250= $20,000

411guru 05-13-2008 10:14 AM

Awesome importracer150. But what is your profit? I mean you don't have to tell but I hope its healthy. Only that matters because you can have $1 million in sales but if your costs are $999,950, then it doesn't matter. Also, do you have a link? I'd like to check out your website.

amandalc 05-13-2008 01:47 PM

I currently make around $800 a month which compared to these other figures is a drop in the bucket. But I also work a regular full time 9-5 and ebay is just a way to make extra cash to help pay for bills and unexpected emergencies. I would love to be able to work from home and make a living at it but given what I sell its just not plausible for me. I sell clothing, accessories and collectibles. The way I get all of my items is by hitting up higher end consignment shops, flea markets, estate auctions, and waiting for items to go on sale at the local outlet mall where I can sometimes get new stuff at a price that I can make profit from. But I'm really only able to search for items to sell on weekends and sometimes I might go to an auction and find some great collectible pieces and sometimes I will go and spend 2 hours and nothing resale worthy will go on the block so its hit and miss. But I like that extra $$$ coming in so to me its worth the effort but I dont think I could make a living at it with my current method.

someperson 05-14-2008 01:25 AM

^^You seem to be very set that people cant make a killing on eBay without selling counterfeit goods. Stop hatin.

jscan 05-14-2008 02:13 AM

Modee just doesnt like those who do which is his opinion. everyone knows you can make a killing selling counterfeits no doubt, in fact thats what alot of us were selling when we started. After discovering this forum many of us dont.

Junkymail 05-14-2008 09:30 AM

My only secret is being the manufacturer for my product :) No need to outsource, and my only overhead is materials, operating expenses, and the such.

And no it's not Vero or bootlegged. 100% original & tradeskill. And that's all I can say or else the ones that decide to learn the tradeskill will be my competition :p

But I did learn a lot from this site! After trying to rebuild my feedback over multiple accounts by selling cheaper items I found at stores, I still ended up making about $1000 in sales, $393 was profit! Now that may not sound like much, but I wasn't trying to make a profit, mainly just trying to build feedback over several accounts. These little "feedback" listings/products are open box items, or returns from a local big name store I would rather not mention :p It helps that I have internet on my phone to check prices on ebay and calculate shipping on the spot.

So I would say another money maker is simply spreading out listings over many unlinked accounts. If I can pocket about $390 on items I can find in a regular store chain, anyone can!

I can only imagine how much I'll make when I can start mass listing my regular products! Can't list too many of them just yet as they are high value and would probably get me flagged...

southwind562 05-16-2008 04:40 PM

Is that gross sales or profits?

Lisa B 05-16-2008 05:47 PM

I have a full time 9-5 job as well and cannot put as much time in eBay as I want to.

I make around $900-$1,100 extra per month. I know it's not much as some on here but it helps pay the bills.

I don't do wholesale because I don't know how to go about gettng it done so I just go to the local stores/outlets and buy my items at discounted prices and mark them up on eBay.

No, I do not sell counterfits, I never have, even when I was legit on eBay.

I look for hard to find household items, collectibles, beauty product that are in demand.

Sammi007 05-17-2008 01:00 AM

Modee, if you are trying to imply that I am selling counterfeit goods on eBay from your last message...Please don't jump the gun...I sell collectables.....

411guru 05-18-2008 12:38 AM

Lisa,

You need a tax ID. You can get one free, usually in an government center in the capital city of your state. Once you got that, you can purchase products wholesale. Go to flea markets offices and get a free news letter. You will be shocked by how low some prices are. However, what can be bought wholesale, is most likely aready on ebay so find products not sold there or there will be hella competition. I was one of the first to sale dub city diecast collectible cars on ebay. Wholesale cost was $6.00. I was selling on average $20 a piece. Then the wholesalers saw how good I was doing and they used buy it now for $10.99. No way I could compete considering they are the ones I bought from and their cost was probably $3.00.

Jonas 05-18-2008 05:01 AM

411guru, yeah I generally have to go around trying to find stuff on eBay few people are selling. Once people start selling, the "wholesale" prices I am supposed to get things at becomes 2-3x what competitors are selling them on eBay.
