DHL Problem - Phone call
 

Hello All,

I've lurked for a little bit around here but figured it's time to post. Already bought the ebay stealth guide. Wish I bought it sooner.

Anyway.

Ive been waiting about a week for a shipment of workout dvd's from china. 2 seperate shipments. The tracking numbers last said clearance delay and recently were updated to "contact customer service"

I just received a phone call from dhl and the guy told me one the shipments were seized and asked if I had a "letter of authorization" from the company to receive the goods. I told him I didn't have one. He said it's ok sometimes people buy things and they don't know blah blah.

He said I should write a statement saying I ordered these online and that I didn't know they coulnd't be imported and I authorize customs to seize or destroy the shipment and reference the tracking number.

He said my name would be blacklisted if I didn't do this and if I did fax in the statement to him my name would be removed immediately and they would just destroy the shipment.

Help!?!? What do I do?

I would keep silence, say nothing.
US Custom can not charge you anything if you say nothing.
The shipment is gone for sure, why would you admit it if you won't even receive the goods ..

If you tell them, they won't blacklist you ? that's nonsense, they still blacklist you because you already admit it.

Well my experience with getting something seized by DHL is different then from what others have said on other threads. I had a large shipment of "workout" dvds also seized by customs. Once I saw that it had the clearance delay I knew that the shipment was seized. I never contacted DHL by phone. Most of the time from what I understand you would receive a letter in the mail also. Still to this day I have not received anything in regards to the seizure. Since the seizure I have gotten close to 20 shipments thru DHL that have gone through the same sorting facility that seized my package.

Back in my other ebay life......before I knew better, I had all shipments come to my home with my real name. I had a shipment siezed, ignored it and ordered the exact same product the day I found out it was siezed. No issue's going through customs then or thereafter.

did it go to the same address as the one that was seized also?

I got a message saying that I had to call DHL customer service..I contacted my seller in china and he contacted DHL..He said that I had to pay taxes on the packages and the packages will be released..I am wondering should I pay taxes and risk being blacklisted, or just leave the packages there?

Had a close call too, clearance delay on the tracking on friday, i called them and they told me to wait, just checked again and it cleared today :D
