MC010 Notice: eBay Account Limited - Verify Identity
 

I just got hit with this crap, my eBay account is more than 4 months old but my Paypal account is at least a month old, can you guys let me know what kind of questions they will ask me or what experience you had with this? I only have 48 hours!

I have a thread on it. I just had my call with them today. They ask you what your address and phone number on the account are, then they look up public records and ask you two multiple choice questions based on that info. Say "none of the above" to both. Don't volunteer any extra info, and relax, its a mellow conversation.

Yes, holyhell is right. I also have a thread open about this. You need to be a subscribe member to check it out. Make sure you have all the info ready to go when you call them.

Nothing to worry about.

You do need to call them with in the 48 hours or they will hit you with a MC169 and then you will have to fax them your info.

I just called eBay today, this eBay representative she was real nice with me anyway she asked me for my name, address, and phone number, I got them all correct (im using ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info btw) then like holyhell wrote, i was asked 2 questions: 1) where did you previously live? and 2) whats the name of your favorite pet and i said none of the above to both questions and now im good to go :thumb:

Now go slowly, be careful how you conduct your business. Give good customer service. And while you are a user here, DONT PANIC if something happens. Come to the forum and ask before trying half-baked remedies. Trust me it can be the difference with saving an account and losing it.

what do you mean none of the above? so when they ask you 2 random questions, you dont need to answer them?

You can avoid it all together if you get more activety on the account before you sell and try and get more than just 10 feedback. Listing on a new account with not much activety seems to be what triggers it.

so you just simply answer them NONE OF THE ABOVE? did they give you multiple choice/multiple answer then none of it is the right one? is that when you said NONE OF THE ABOVE?

Replying none of the above is not a good idea.

I created a stealth account using someone I know and the first question actually had valid info that I just so happened to know, so I answered accordingly. The other 2 questions I had no idea, so I said none of the above, and they lifted the suspension on the spot. Bottom line is that you NEED to know the persons basic info that you are creating a account with.

I just got done doing this government national database BS. They asked me only two questions and I passed by saying "none of the above".

The questions were ...which of these 5 counties have you lived in?... and "which one of these zip codes have you lived in?"

What is the difference between MC010 and MC015????? I got MC015 8 days ago and nobody will reply to me about it.

i don't know about mc015, but mc010 is when they cancel your listing and shut down your account until you call ebay and talk to a good agent that ask a few questions and then you can start buying or selling on your account after a few minutes.

So if you say "none of the above" to those questions they lift the limit on your account? Even if that isnt the correct answer? Or are these accounts with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and ⊗⊗⊗⊗ addresses?

I just called ebay using spoof card after i got a MC010 today,
Got a MC012 eBay Notice - Listing Reinstatement,
All he asked was 2 questions on my stealth account,
I told him neither sounded like anything i knew,
He told i passed and i am good to go, Thanks

I went to list on my 60 some odd days old stealfy and there system told me I hit the 10or/500 but I could squeeze an item in here and there but today it sent me to a screen where they ask me to identify myself (confirm) or the some other choice I forgot but it did not apply to me so I did some research and came back to the page and check off the first choice which is to confirm my identity.

So the systems starts checking then the system ask me to confirm what I see on the screen and I said yes it's correct then about 25 seconds later the system said that I had not been a member for at least 90 days and it could not verify all the info but I had not been a member for at least 90 days so keep listing but remember your limits are 10or/500 for at least 90 days.

That's all it gave me knowone to call just my limits, so I went back and listed another item and stayed below my 10or/500 and all the items are listed with maybe $11 to spare, where did you all get a phone number to call?

It should give you a number on your ebay page for a MC010 you get,
I got back to back on 2 stealth accounts and passed both so far,
Just make sure you use a spoof card to call if you are doing stealth,
I have another account over a month old and already listed and sold,
Wonder if i will get hit with another MC010 on my 3rd stealth account,

well, I had the 48 hour notice yesterday and gave them a call today. I failed it even though I answered 'non of the above' to the questions. So I have to fax in information on the account (yes it is a stealth)
The ebay rep seemed to want to go into major detail about the account :suspicious:

I am going to test my photoshop skills tonight and fax in the information tomorrow morning.

Hi What do You means about use a spoof card to call?

Well, I submitted the documents and we shall see how it goes...

Don't even bother. Once you fail that quiz, you would be luck to get your account back with DL and bank statement. I faxed them damn near perfect docs and they just ignore your request until they finally tell you they are unable to reinstate you account at this time, check back in a year.
IMO you are better off putting the work and effort into new stealth accounts.

ebay is asking me to call them to have my identity verify, has anybody called them, this past recent days regarding the same issue, if yes? what is the procedure to get the limitation lifted of the account, what kind of question will they ask me ?

by tha way where did you find out the info to get in f a k-e documents that you photoshopped?

i just made a bunch of stuff up lol. I got the id image from a mugshot photo online LOL

But nothing yet....Im sure they wont let me sell on that account/name so Im just moving on xP

I plan on calling but I cant call from the number I signed the account up with. Am I able to just block my number using *67 and then answer the questions or is it a done deal to not call from the accounts phone number? (Hope that wasnt already answered!)

They are saying that my 'ID' did not come through the fax and that they need a clear 'government issued ID' to consider reinstating my account

Do not call using *67 It does not work with 800 numbers and I have got a couple of accounts reinstated when not calling from the number that is on the account.

but now I always call from the number thats on the ebay account

in my case, the representative asked me to fax my driver license. the account is dead.

How/what type of phone is needed so that a the number yuo put into ebay is the one they call? trac phone, cell phone, ?

The best thing to do is to make the most use out of 1 phone number you can doesn't matter what company or type it is but,

Prepaid is the way to go because you are able to change your number daily with most (Good if you use it for creating accounts)

1 number can turn into 5 or 6 if you can afford vumber.com

There is many call forwarding services try to search google or this forum or if you are having a hard time then PM me I will help with free advice

its annoying to me how they change there methods sometimes you get the questions and sometimes you get that you have to fax your info. just choose one i don't get it
