Items seized and not delivered
 

I was supposed to receive 2 big packages from china through DHL, and for a few days the tracking number just said the package was with the delivery courier, so i contacted DHL and DHL informed me that hong kong customs said to intercept the package as they are investigating the seller for fraudaulent activities. Am I in trouble as the items were dvds I got from dhgate.

Well if I was you I would get away from your house because you ordered bootlegs so when china customs finds out they will call your local police and bust your front door down....

OP, you will get a letter saying they where seized and giving you x number of days to contest it.

I know I was kidding but on a serious note at least with ems they will send you court papers to destroy your goods...you can however still get other package through as long as there not dvds I think not sure on that though
My suggestion just go legit I sell handbags that look like expensive designer ones but without the logos so I dont get sued and they sell just as good.

You will recieve a letter from U.S Customs and Border patrol, in that letter they will tell you that they have your package, and what you need to do to get it back (Which I DO NOT Suggest), they will also tell you that if you Do not respond that they will Destroy your package by a certain date.

If the package contains XXXX DVD's and you try to get it back, I Guarantee that you will have some sort of problem. I suggest that you DO NOT RESPOND to any of their letters, forget about the Package and let them destroy it, and move on. You will be Fine.

Also, I would use another Address, I Know you can still use the same address and still recieve packages for a while, but once your original Seized package goes through the process and finally gets destroyed, your address will be flagged, and you will be vulnerable to more "Spot Checks" This process can take about a year.

Yes I know sometimes US Customs do seize packages containing shipments from other countries but this time around it was my local dhl center that intercepted the package to be searched. I have never heard of that before.

If you have something shipped DHL you had better have something on the sending side that has contacts inside of DHL or your going to lose your shipment is all I got to say.

Just buy smaller orders & spread it out to other sellers that you trust.

Not a huge problem, ignore DHL let them destroy your package. Open a dispute on DHGate tell them the problem that your supplier is being investigated for fraud activity and get a full refund after you wait a couple weeks to submit the dispute to DHGate. If you have an understanding supplier propose a full refund or re-shipment of products and use a different address. That or simply dispute the purchase with whatever you used to buy it in the first place.

When this happened to me my supplier definitely did not agree to a full refund which I'm assuming is usually the case. That's why you'd need to wait to be able to submit the dispute to DHGate after a couple weeks of the order being in dispute.

Yes,the customers have paid for the goods,so the supplier have to resend the goods again or refund

that is true, i am a local 35 year old attorney here in cali, and had friend/client order 10 complte box sets of the shaun t insanity, sent him a letter about 2 weeks after his items shipped, stated they have confiscated the above , and if there was no response in 10 business days it would be destryed, he apparantly told them kick rocks, i want my ****, they said no problem sir, go to this address and meet with local customs officers from your area.. so after about 6 hours he gets a call from the alphbet boys and they say,,, "hey heard you had a problem with your dfvd's..?" We are so sorry about that, matter of fact we can get them for you over nighted but we need a signature to verify we have permision, now we can come to you or meet,, he fell for it,, bail set at 25,000 federal. so i will keep you posted on what happens,, they ****ing send you a letter ignore it.. completely ignore it......

i had the same problem 2 years ago with some stuff from china for 50 k ,i got a lawyer ,couldnt do anything about it ,dont waste your time ,dont look for it.

agree with jakesh.. get a chalk board and some chalk,, and mark 1 for the home team.. chalk it up.....'

forget about the goods, they will NOT get delivered to you...file a claim with DHGate for a full refund...do not respond to customs letters...if you want to use DHL for future orders you will need a different address (and name)...if you want to use your name and address you will need to have your goods mailed via EMS (U.S postal service) I know it takes longer, but it's safer!

but EMS is not safe if you are in the middle of usa,other area is ok for small size packages.
