100% legal trading

Is it extremely hard to make a living on ebay 100% legally? By legally i mean going as far as paying import duty, taxes, basically declaring everything we should.

Surely is we did this our competitors on ebay would be selling at much better prices because its more than likely not being declared.

What do you guys think?

I'll just say it's A LOT harder than it used to be, but its not impossible to make a living on ebay. eBay/Paypal are extremely unpredictable and in no way consistant with any of their rules and regulations. They know a lot of people depend on ebay/paypal for money and a lot of people make a living on ebay so they can basically do whatever they want and get away with it.

Paying import duty and taxes is the least of my worries with ebay. It's whether or not you'll wake up and your account goes whazooo!!

its not really that difficult 'UNLESS'
1. you have very little start up cash
2.you expect to only work 30 minutes a day
3.you are looking for that 'FICTIONAL WHOLESALER or WHOLESALE LIST"
4.You expect to make 1k to 20k within the first month or so
5.you really think items from overseas are ok to sell
6.you think ebay will never bother you selling things from overseas because youve had smooth sailing for the last year
7.you think its ebays fault when you are selling items for half what the trademark owner sells them to major department stores for and you get a vero
8.you dont understand the 'brick n mortar' rule
9. you think ebay and paypal fees are high are high because if you had your own local store the rent , utilities ,gas , time ,possible employees would be so much cheaper -all while only being open 9-7 and depending ONLY on the local economy .
10.you spend all your time bit%^ing about ebay when you could spend that time looking for product right on ebay .

I could go on but put down the cell phone , ipod ,etc and turn off the tv and bust your azz figuring out a way to beat odds ...Good luck!

you dont understand the 'brick n mortar' rule?

What is it?

gibsonton 05-14-2010 07:34 PM

brick and mortar .. means strore front .most companys only want their items sold by authorized dealers and than only so many in certain regions and usually within a certain distance .. just depends on the product but they def dont want 5 and dimers undercutting the major departments stores.
