Best time to list on eBay?

Just wondering what the best time to list items on eBay is, specifically DVDs. I was thinking 3/5 day listing, started around 10pm EST. What do you guys think

Why not list 10 days BIN?

hungt_143 05-14-2010 10:30 PM

Best time would be from 4pm-7pm.. My price always the highest at those time.

Vicvelcro 05-14-2010 11:19 PM

4pm-7pm in which time zone? For some people, it matters.

4pm-7pm California time..also Monday and Sunday is the best day to sell.

Vicvelcro 05-15-2010 12:03 AM

Interesting. I have found that 5-9pm California time on Sundays is the peak. Mondays seem to work well from 11am-4pm California time.

Yes Sunday is the best and I get allot of international buyers winning auctions that close on Monday 4pm to 9 pm cal. time. On Sundays you may be missed because so many auctions close on that day so that's why Monday works too. BIN is a free for all, they buy at anytime for me.

I find national holidays, i run out of stock, so many orders cant keep up.....I list all week too..cant say I notice much difference, often people purchase BIN late Sunday for some reason

I should probably have 100 Ebay accounts to make it easy to list for me... I sell pricey vero, but can't sell more than 2 a month on each account an have only 3 active ones. So, if my item doesn't sell in my normal 7 or 10 day posting, I have to wait another 30 days to re-list. I am moving at snails peace in this game...
I was re-listing few things the other day and changed it from auction to BIN with Best Offer and tan I could select 30 day listing- or even Good Til Canceled...I selected 30 day, so we'll see. This way its up there longer and I don't have 20 day gaps with nothing on any more. Am I doing a right thing? And how come I can chose "Good Til Canceled" without being a store owner? I must be out of touch or something....

Not sure about the ''Good till canceled'' was too shaky to try it.
But that's exactly how I list my pricey VERO designer items! Buy it now or best offer with 30 days. It works like a charm specially when desperate buyers offer too low so you can ask them to pay outside of eBay! ;) :D

Thanks OfficialGenious...I was thinking the same, so I am glad to have confirmation on this. GTC is however still a puzzle for me...

auctions less than 7 days are very highly scrutinized by ebay. Although sometimes you can get items under the radar if they end quick enough, it's usually best to do a 7, 10 or 30 day auction to avoid suspicion.

Depending on how backed up ebay is, your item won't show for a few hours anyway. It really depends on when the item will end. Of course, with a buy it now option, it doesn't really matter when it ends. It ends when the person buys it :)

it depend on which dvds,if the dvds owner set some people on ebay to check, and then it is better do not list it on ebay ,or just 1 days listing.but for some dvds, you can list it for 29 days .So you need to do some search on ebay to see which model can be selling there, which can not.
