importing large items

I am probably getting way ahead of myself here but do any of you guys have any experience if importing bigger items? By bigger i mean heavy and large pieces of furniture.

By importing these we wouldnt have to worry about customs seizing them but does it mean that we are not getting around paying smaller import duty fee's?

Anyone with have any experience at all in this field? :peace:
