Whats all this about phone vertification
 

I've heard that now on eBay when you start a new selling account that when you reach a certain limit you have to verify your account by phone were you're asked questions such as whether or not you have a fireplace in your house? What happens and everything? Is it like this in the U.K.?

Yeah this has happened to me...it's always about previous addresses you have lived it...etc...all public information.

so what website can i go to to get public information about an address I am using? I is there a public database that shows floorplans, layouts, etc. for a given address? (I can't believe I'm asking this questions!! AARRGGG!!) :D

I think that you (or your f a k e name) and Google must become bedfellows, so to speak. Searching purposes...

next ebay is going to want random drug testing to start selling.

I just searched my stealth name & address and absolutely NOTHING came up. So, I don't know what they could ask randomly if and when the time comes..??...

I did the same thing, nothing. Well, that will be a fun phone call.:rolleyes:
In the future, I'll be using relatives houses where I know the history. There will always be a way.

I have opened account and got call within minutes as I listed 8 items and they cancelled all my auctions. They called me and I missed the call (this has been disussed in these forums but AGAIN DO NOT MISS THE CALL OR YOU WILL BE LIMITED)They sent email asking me to call them within 48 hours. They asked about my address. I completely bs my way through the entire conversation. The answer to all the questions was no.
and I talked to him like he was my friend. worked like a charm. he reinstated all my listings within 5 minutes. Been listing ever since with no problems.
Another trick I learned is to call them and talk to them and ask questions and they have record that they talked to you and they dont seem to bother you after that. its risky and I dont like talking to them when its **** info but it can work.
