ok . Walmart has to deal with shoplifters too, so true, but there are always things that they can do to reduce that, security cameras for example. But on today's eBay environment, what can we do as a honest seller against these false claims ? eBay's dispute system is 100% sided with buyers, issue refunds not even ask for returing items, and now eBay also deduct seller performance rating when dispute hits you ! what is worse, seller can not neg buyers.
I started selling on eBay in 2005, in the very beggining, I shipped out orders without tracking numbers for around 5 months, oh man ! let me tell you, during that period, I was dealing with item not receive emails all day long, and I keep sending duplicate orders to buyers, then we dicided to implement tracking number, guess what ? Since then, 99.9% of our orders delivered on time, and these kind of false claims suddenly disappeared ! What a difference ! See what I mean? if there is anything I can do to reduce these false claims, I will do it, but for now on eBay, I don't see a thing seller csn do to protect himself besides praying. |
Funny last year i shipped out about 1800 items without a tracking # or DC as i didnt include it if item was under $15 and had maybe 10-15 claims and they may not of got them as i didnt have tracking ....i just switched to a zebra printer and doing the postage online and it had made a difference as i have gotten top rated and the 20% now for the last 3months ..........the point is no matter what anybody says it is difficult to beat ebay ,, you dont need a storefront or brick mortar -- you dont need to advertise ...and your items are being shown all over the world .. and to top all that off - i buy 80-90% of what i sell right off of ebay and re-sell back on there...i know it has issues and is not perfect and i have been screwed by them on legit items in the past ......... just had a jealous guy tell me you want $40 for that item when you just bought it off of ebay for $2.88 in a 20 ct lot ...my reply dont hate join me ... and to all those on here who i gave advice about the vintage concert shirts and didnt take it --- thanks , i just started playing around with it and made a extra $400 this month on my down time ...Good lUCK TO ALL. |

bad thing is i still wont do it. lol | Trust me , i was in the same boat- i wanted easy .. you just got to put the Search time in ....I didnt even know untill the local newspaper contacted me through info they got from Ebay that i am the 2nd largest seller on Ebay in the USA with the Items that i sell .....they wanted to do a story on 'full time ebay sellers''.. i declined the story but i am letting them follow me on a buy-sell- flip directly from Ebay ..we started in February with 3 items i purchAsed for $15 than sold for $115 than so on and so no ,,, since February - 5 months i have the $15 pruchase up to $3146.71 .. they want me to hit 10k within a year so they run the story how a guy turned $15 in widgets into 10k in one year .. but i dont think i will be able to hit that number .. and as far as search time i spend about 20-30 hours a week just searching ebay- craigslist - classifieds-flea markets etc but ebay still rules as you have that worldwide selection ... so not trying to say it easy ..good luck to all |
