Will accounts will be linked on ONE laptop?

With different IPs & different user names, 3 ebay/pp accounts and 3 amazon accounts will be linked only because they exist on ONE laptop?

Ebay/Amazon can detect that?

Thanks

If your using different Windows user accounts and changing your IP before you login to each account you should be fine. Keep a record of your ip's to make sure you don't cross infect the accounts. :ranger:

Am I missing something? Why do you need to run 3 Amazon accounts at once from one computer? I can see having 3 in case something happens, to have another one ready to go, but with all of the methods that I here Amazon has in place I would think this is highly risky behavior

rsot 08-09-2010 10:17 AM

DFB, it's probably because of the velocity meter...volume spread over other accounts.

When amazon reviews one account, you can use another.

For eBay create different user accounts.

SaiJin 08-09-2010 11:06 AM

Your amazon acc, based on experience , they will be linked.
But keep us updated on it?
How long have you had those 3 amazon accounts for?

rsot 08-09-2010 11:11 AM

That computer ID seems to be a huge issue - maybe some browser fingerprinting. But I have used the same computer to set up 5+ accounts - 2 became blocked due to silly accusations of OEM and recopied media (which is impossible since I sell legit).

Only thing that I do is I swear by dial-up - slow as hell but does the trick - different user accounts always.

SaiJin 08-09-2010 11:16 AM

Rsot - So you ran 5 amazon accounts with 5 windows user acc and the same NIC?

rsot 08-09-2010 12:21 PM

Computer is disabled from wireless and LAN - only connects to internet via dial-up so that's probably why they don't get linked. In past postings, I did mentioned that few accounts became blocked for ridiculous accusations but, I move on to new windows user acct. Hasn't cause me problems yet.

And one account in fact has gone way over the velocity meter so that's interesting.

my ip currently is dynamic so can be changed by resetting the router. Regarding the above comment, i have heard that certain internet provides only have a small 'pool' of ip addresses so you are likley to get one that you have had before.

My question is say you have account A and account B, you have made note of all the ip addresses you have used on account A and you are now logging into account B, but every time you get a new ip address you notice it has already been used in account A... what do you then? even though this will be on a different windows user account... it this still risky?

hope it makes sense..!

WOW! Same thing happened to me on Amazon. They accused me of selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗, when I never made one single sale there. They couldn't claim the pics gave it away, because they were stocks provided by Amazon! The nerve of them!

Does anyone here know if using different windows accounts and accessing each amazon account using Verizon's broadband(dynamic IPs) stick would be enough?

I guess my volume there never approached that. What is the cutoff?

rsot 08-10-2010 01:27 PM

Apparently $750ish over 30 day period.
