Started fast....backing off

On this new Stealth account, I am close to the dreaded $1,000 limit in 3 1/2 weeks. I was easing back and listing less, but some of the bids got out of hand, and I came closer to that deadly dollar amount.

I don't know if they do 30-day reviews on new sellers, but either way, I am listing on a second account now. Problems may still arise, though. The second account is linked to the same Paypal. So the dollar amount may still make them nervous.

I have made a lot of changes for these new accounts (you live, you learn, right?) We'll see if the changes add life to these accounts. Wish me a good report, and thanks always for everything ladies and jellybeans.

I sold an item for $710 on a 28 day account with no problem. That was just one of many sales I had at least 20 different transactions and the majority were over $100. I don't think $1000 is a magic number. The items I sold were supposedly high risk vero items nothing happened...not even a warning.

My accounts were banned for linking to another account but not because of anything else.

But were they possibly linked for the type of items being sold?
That's one that always has made me nervous. Finding a few items that are readily available and profitable is tough enough. Having to start all over with a new account is tough also. Having to start a new account and find all new inventory to sell is murder.

this is interesting..OP, im surprised..what isso special about 1,000 ? yea just keep making new paypal accounts and you will be in the clear..And Romeo, pm me on how i can do that too lol

holyhell 08-15-2010 10:20 PM

I only say 1,000 because that's what everyone here (the higher-ups) seem to say. I lost my last Stealth account because I made too much, too fast.

I'm sure the dollar amount isn't concrete, like someone else said, it's just a gauge/guideline.

Based on my personal experience, I totally agree that 1K may be the max you can go without being limited in some form. IMO $500 is what PP wants you withdrawing or less per month.

jbluntz 08-16-2010 03:52 AM

The most I've gone is $4800 on a few month old account, $500 only applies to a 1 month or less old account or if you don't have your withdrawel limits lifted.

holyhell 08-16-2010 11:48 AM

Thank you so much jbuntz. It's great to hear some good news.

boxcutters 08-16-2010 12:01 PM

$1k is definately not the magic numbers. Theres more to just the money coming in that can limit you

Ive sold way over $1000 plus on accounts that are 1 month old over a 30 day period

holyhell 08-16-2010 12:06 PM

Wow, you guys are the best. I believe a MAJOR problem that brought a limitation and request for invoices was this-

I got carried away with Second Chance Offers, I always did great with those. So it was obvious that I had multiples. And I wasn't spreading out the categories. When you continue to overuse the same three categories, they know you have a stockpile.

I don't think that's only the problem. The problem also is when you make too much money from an eBay account. I think new/few months old eBay accounts have a monthly limit of $5,000 before they suspend you and request for invoices, etc...

mdiva901 08-16-2010 07:10 PM

Right now i'm over 3000 when they will put me on suspension. What about paypal limit. What is it.

IDK 08-16-2010 07:18 PM

Well as I said. Based on my personal experience. And $500 a month or less is what PP wants you withdrawing regardless of being fully verified without limits. I've had a number of accounts hit right at the 1K mark. This is why I don't like to give general advice. It's actually different for everyone, because no 2 accounts are alike. There is really never a clear answer to these types of questions.

Before answering your question accurately, I need to know the following...

Are you selling high-risk vero items? How many feedback does the account have? How old is it? And during what time frame are you receiving payments? (500 a week? etc..) And how much are you withdrawing? and when?

SaiJin 08-16-2010 07:29 PM

Jbuntz: Are you referring to account opened within a month or a few to several months non selling account that just got activated to sell?

jbluntz 08-16-2010 08:01 PM

You got it, as OG said there's a 5k monthly limit on new accounts, I don't activate my accounts until they're a few months anyway.

holyhell 08-16-2010 08:21 PM

Good Lord, I haven't even been in the ballpark of 5k.

Yes items are high risk. i have 7 feedbacks, 4 months old, I'm selling $600 a day. i just withdraw all i have available so i want have an suspension. how ever i have non high risk items to build my feedback. these item are 1.00. should i take them off too.

mdiva901 08-17-2010 01:51 AM

I'm very nervous now because i have an account balance with them and not sure if they will put me on suspension. I just started and never sold anything before and this is crazy! I dont know what to do next. What can i do next. Right now i'm reading the book so i create a new account. But its a process and i'm slow because i work alot. WTF I'm starting not to like this

mdiva901 08-17-2010 02:00 AM

ok these items are not vero. Just selling fast

jbluntz 08-17-2010 02:00 AM

I would try to tone it down a little, on that account, open another account and start moving your sales onto that one little by little and keep reading the forums, you've got all the answers you need right here.

Second chance offers are great for vero items because they do not show up when you do a "completed" sale search.

Also with vero items IMO it is very risky to just hit the relist button because if the vero rights holder has saved it as a watched item, they will receive an email saying it has been relisted.
