yep... sold authentic shows, buyer complained, returned me a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ instead. Checked his buying history, looks like he bought a couple of pairs from other seller who obviously are selling balony.

Nice nice.

Shrug... me I only have enough energy to focus on my own affairs.
I don't have time to screw with people. Those kind of people will get theirs without me lifting a finger soon or later.

You know the worst thing about stuff like this, is the people are not scammers. They are every day people. What gets into their heads that this is cool? We're not talking about switching tags at walmart or something. We are talking about stealing from another everyday person. What are the odds this same guy would break into your car and steal the receiver? Zero. But its the same thing

Its only $14, but on principal alone you can try something I've done a handful of times. About a 50% success rate. And only on the "average Joe". Takes one minute

email them that you are reporting them for mail fraud. Its a federal crime [This is actually true]. They have 48hrs to pay whats owed or you will carry forward with the complaint. You have their name and address, and receiver serial num and will be forwarding it to the police. Naturally you wont and they could care less. But sometimes the average person gets a bit freaked out.

Its a one shot deal that has no follow up and takes one minute. Just freaking them out makes it worth it.

What is Truly Sad about this Whole thing is that Ebay/Paypal Just DO NOT CARE,,,,Does Eveyone here Know that they recently made "Changes" To their Respective Seller Protection Policies, Which make it even Harder for a Seller to get his Products Covered, as More and More Buyers Get hip to all of this it WILL Begin to Unravel Ebay, Mark my words.

The only reason eBay has survived is there is simply no competition. And they know they can do as they please. If how it is now was a start up today it would crumble and fail in 6 months... They wouldn't even be able to pay hosting fees.

But so many have tried auction sites and none have even come remotely close to even being a nuisance to eBay, let alone competitive. They will loss revenue over time as it becomes pointless for sellers to sell. Hard to say how long and how dramatic. Again, they are the only restaurant in town. And if you want to eat....

Anybody read the founder's letter at the end? I wonder what eBay was like in 1995-1998.

It was great. Couldn't get better. Until the bad people ruin it for us , then eB & PP took a stand and ruin themselves and for everyone like it is now.

They became too big, too monopolizing and too stupid.

Look at how old that article is.
Most of these method will "work" anymore.

Interesting read, im guessing that some of these methods would probably still work under given circumstances.

Pisses me off tho that some people would stoop so low as to do things like this....

Remember these types of scammers have already given you their address when you shipped the item.
A little imagination and the knowledge that most of us have here used on craigslist, etc could cause the scammers lots of frustration

Not to mention some of these clowns are pretty stupid. The guy above sent a receiver to seller with a serial number on it. He likely got this originally from direct dealer. Obviously you are not going to pursue this for $14. But if you wanted to, he has given you everything needed short of an affidavit confessing the crime....The buyer is no criminal mastermind here!

I do recall reading a couple years ago someone tried that with a $1500 laptop. Sent back his old one that appeared to fall into a lake or something. Laptop was bought by buyer and registered. Seller perused and buyer was charged by police. I cant remember with what. But what a moron
