Activity: 0% Longevity: 81% | | Anybody sell over 1000+ items per month or well over 1000+
Hi
i see quite a lot of sellers who sell over 1000 items per month.
even some wo sell over 10,000 per month with feedback well over 100,000+
obviously there is going to be a lot of these sellers, but most of the ones ive seen sell things like phone accessories, cables, computer accessories and so on. these are sold at rock bottom prices but they sell a huge amount.
Im assuming the profit per item is very small, especially with some of the items selling at more or less wholesale price and ontop of that you have to pay ebay and paypal fees. one example is a set of things that sell for 99p inc shipping by some sellers. by the time you have paid the fees and paid for shipping there is virtually nothing left. then add on the cost of the product and its got to only be a few pence profit. then there is tax and vat (if your turnover is enough).
does anybody sell a hugh amount per month and manage it all themselves?
how long does it actually take you ship out all the items and answer all the emails?
and how are these people shifting that much money through paypal?
i have a legit company, opened up a legit business paypal account and they suspended it after a while with the general reason of protecting the paypal community.

You're not likely to get too much info here. Folks tend to keep their business to themselves...
But a lot of those companies that sell mass quantities at low prices are based in Asia. Labor and prices to produce the products are a fraction of we are used to.

Don't forget that a lot of these big companies take a little loss on the low end to strike up big profits on the high end - pretty stiff competition.

Like rsot said a lot of sellers lose a bit in order to gain. In order to make a profitable business from selling low value items you need to be on the first page, it helps if your a TRS or have a lot good DSR's and feedback so you go up in the 'best match' search results.

But even if they only make 10 cents if they are selling 1000's of items a month it adds up. A lot of them also sell stuff between 20$ - 30$

I sell 1500 items per month on average, give or take a hundred, depending on the month. And my profit is about $10-$20 per item.

hi, i wasnt actually asking what people sold.
i was just interested in how long it actually took people to manage all the emails, packing, postage etc especially on these low profit items.
i do see some uk sellers shifting well over 10,000 items a month. they must have a few people to manage all that. just answering questions and printing out orders must take quite a bit of time.
imjustme - thats great hope it keeps up.

. | I would image they have some staff for sure. But then again, I find getting replies from huge sellers a waste of time. Days to reply, if ever. Some of them seem to run on auto pilot almost and next to no customer interactions.
Heavy software integration for orders I'm guessing.

I've sold 950+ items this month and done it all myself. When you get into the packaging the time flies by, before you know it you've done it.

I could do with some help but at the moment it doesn't bother me. I think when and if I sell another 1500+ I will pay someone to help me package. I have most of my items pre-packaged. I might spend a day packing items and putting them in to boxes so I know whats what.

I have a powerseller account that sells items of lower value, approx 500 per month, I do not want to up my sales, although I could, as I would not be able to single handedly do the post and packing.

This interests me, so am bringing it back to life.
With an added twist, how many items do people have for sale ?
at the moment, I have around 2200 items listed for sale.

Across how many accounts? And different items or includes variations? I have only a fraction of that right now, looking for more every day

You have all 400 in stock or some are drop shipping? Sometimes it's a numbers game, have lots for sale in different categories and sell a few each per month instead of just 1 hot item.

All items I list I am in possession of.

You can move 1000 items a month pretty easy if you strategizd and sell in wholesale lots and bulk. You may sell something in lots of x10 or x20 in 100 and 50 transactions, respectively.
I personally am not at that point just yet, but I am not trying to be there either. I have a certain monthly quota that I aim for and I stop once I reach that.
I have currently probably selling about 300 items a month, but I sell in bulk so I can move things faster.

You must have a lot of space to be able to hold large stock amounts.
Why do you stop though ?
