Help me out!I'm new to ebay!
 

Hi folks,
Just got my ebay sellers account a couple weeks ago, and I'm a total noob at this. I've read through the stealth book and oh boy, I've learned so much. However, I still have a few questions, and hopefully the nice guys on this forum can help me out. First of all, I have an all-in-one router/modem thingy(something called a wireless home networking gateway that acts as your internet modem and wireless router),so I need to know which IP changing techniques mentioned in the book I should use, by the way my computer is connected to this gateway thingy through an internet cable(not wirelessly).

For my second question, I would like to know if someone bought my item and paid for it through paypal, would they be able to see my personal information such as my name, address and phone number on paypal or ebay? If so, is there anyway that I can hide it from them since I put down real info when I signed up (YES, IM A NOOB).

If I were to set up a new stealth account and use a random made-up name to sign up for paypal, and after some time my sales grow to a certain amount , let's say over 5000 per month, by then if the paypal guys ask for verification from me, is there any way to pass the verification with my made-up name or should I just stick to using a nickname or variation of my real name when I sign up? Can somebody elaborate on the pros and cons of using a completely made-up name?
PS: I live up north, Canada baby, no ssn verification for me, yah!!

Q2: No, you cannot hide your info. They'll see whatever info you put into your accounts.

Q3: It really depends on what info they ask of you.

thank you guys for the fast response. So buyers can see my personal info, well that's just too bad. Could they see my phone number as well? Come on, I can understand the name and address being shown to buyers, but phone number??!, I don't really wanna get called at certain time of day by random people asking questions or stalking me :P.

Any network gurus here to help me with my first question?

RE: Your 1st question...You will 1st need to find out if your IP address is Static or Dynamic.

If you find out it is Static you're not going to be able to change it without calling your ISP and getting a Dynamic address or changing providers.
