| | | tommymon | 10-12-2010 03:47 PM | Gmail alternatives for Stealth Accnts I don't like Gmail, but does aol or any other email service have same stealth qualities as gmail, I mean not giving ip address away etc??? tks tmon |
| smithgroup | 10-12-2010 04:03 PM | Why don't you like gmail?
If it ain't broke why fix it? |
| tommymon | 10-12-2010 05:54 PM | We don't like the way they stack, bunch, group, or whatever you want to call it emails together!
But, that 's not the question.
If there is a better way, why not use it? |
| FandangoKango | 10-12-2010 07:05 PM | what makes gmail stealth? i didnt know about this.. fill me in please... |
| Emanresu | 10-12-2010 07:07 PM | If you go to the main settings page in Gmail you can turn off "conversation view." That will keep all your emails separate.
I do understand why you would want that for eBay. I have had Google group different sales together into one conversation many times. |

If you looked at an email from eBay or Amazon on your main PC, which was banned, it would report your IP address back to them and you could be linked.
At least that is the way I understand it. Maybe someone can be more specific? |

jeffweico as usual has it right on. Plus - most of the time - when you send e-mails out via g-mail, your IP is not displayed in the header. |

In practice gmail is great if setup correctly. But its not infallible. It can show images when its not supposed to and it does have your IP in header sometimes. Rare, but it happens. To reply 100% safe it needs to be done from the right IP.
I forward a copy of emails to one gmail account so I can just read them on one user account. But never reply from it. But there still is a small risk it will diaplay images even when set to off. |

I use one gmail account to read all my mail. But its dangerous. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:14 AM. | |
