Do you need a store to have items "on sale"

I see some items with a little on sale icon and price reduction. Looks nicer then just lowering the price and adding its on sale to description. Does this have to be done from an eBay store?

I believe this is only available for items that are listed in a Ebay store.

Thats what I thought, thanks. I thought I would check before I waded through 540 pages of "help" on eBay

CardFelon is correct, you must have a eBay store in order to place items "On Sale".
