Default How do you feel about the new policies?

In case you're not familiar, this week ebay is going to be shutting down all of your duplicate listings.. even if you're selling on multiple accounts they will be shut down.

Personally, I like this one.. however most of the people in my niche with duplicate listings all rank low in the best match anyway so they don't really affect me.

I like the New DSR policy though. Basically if you ship an item instantly, provide tracking info and thebuyer gets it within 4 days you will automatically get a 5 star. I love that.

If you offer free shipping.. you automatically get a 5 star also.

Not sure I understand this. You are only allowed to list an item once until sold? That cant be right. So you are not allowed to have the same item at 3, 7 and 10 days?

I have to admit I don't keep on top of new policies like I should as its just a waste of time since they seem to change crap every other week. But only selling one of an item seems really stupid. Do they know what that would cost them in fees.

Is there more specifics on this rule? Out of context is just doesn't make sense.

From how I understood the duplicate listing policy is that you see some sellers that have like 20 BIN listings all for the same item at the same price. What Ebay wants sellers to do know is have 1 BIN listing and then list the quanity of items in the 1 listing. So that way when people are searching for a item the buyer does not see 20 of the exact same listing. This new duplicate listing policy is for BIN listings only and does not apply to auction listings.

All my stuff is BIN. But if I want to spread out end times they cant have an issue with that. Otherwise you would have to relist almost daily in some cases. Thats just a mess.

Well, to be exact, it's for FIXED price.
That's what I read in their new rules.

I don't think auction + buy it now price listings count.

Here: http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformat...ingPolicy.html

It says it specifically: FIXED PRICE

I'll have to read that when I'm on a safe IP. But all I do is fixed price. I would love to see a video of behind the scenes at some of these board meetings at eBay. Has to be just a riot of people barely smart enough to feed themselves.....

I sell items that different by the picture, but the title could be the same (eg. Brown Dog 1 & Brown Dog 2). I have been busy changing titles. The look up tool came back with 30 listings that needed to be removed. I believe they removed 18 today. The item I sell - shipping 1st Class is $1.05 - no tracking is available (I checked and rechecked). I can stick some packing peanuts in there and mail as a package - $2.35 and then tracking. Buyers know this. The new policy is only beneficial when more than 1 item is purchased.
