Unpaid items ...a selling limits nightmare.
 

One of my new accounts just hit the famous "10 items per month" barrier for new sellers. I sold exactly 10 items and only 1 buyer paid immediately. All others I've had to open unpaid item disputes and they're not responding. Obviously, this is a nightmare scenario ...because if none of the buyers pay and you can only sell 10 per month, it will take 10 months to even get 10 items sold and hopefully 10 feedback, if 9 out of 10 are non-payers.

what about when u open the unpaid item dispute then when you cancel it wont that mean another sale and so on ?

I don't know yet, I'll be able to close the first one tomorrow..

its got to work otherwise like you said this will just stop more and more people selling on ebay ,i take it they lift that selling limit when you have sold loads or reached certain feedback score

Well, I closed the dispute with an unpaid item strike, but it still won't let me list more items, saying I reached my 10 sold items per 30 days limit. I guess "sold items" doesn't matter if they're paid or not.

how much feedback did you have IJM when they hit you with this limit?
or was it before you sold anything?

They hit me with the limit last week and I had 700 positives. Of course they suspended me today. No more monthly evaluation these fuc""ers are doing it on a daily basis now! I so can't wait for them to have nothing but buyers & no sellers!

It seems to me this is ripe for abuse. Wanna stop a new seller dead in his tracks? Just start a new account and buy their 10 items, then walk away from it...

It's ridiculous, but it sounds about right for eBay.

Just in time for Christmas season too..Why let normal, ordinary people make few bucks for the Holidays when there are big sellers with stores paying good money..?! How about 10 a month for them too? Indeed, we are not all equal. Uhhhh...It amazes me how creative Ebay can get in never ending task to completely shut down the small seller!:mad2:

This happening to me on every account I open. Always a new account buyer or an old account with 0 feedback.
I know it's competitors bidding and then not paying.

If I can be bothered, I'll ask for contact info and see if I can return the favour. :mad:

Others around here might disagree with me on this, but I can't see eBay keeping this up for long. They're suspending big sellers with thousands of feedbacks on a daily basis, while not allowing small sellers to grow at the same rate. They will soon have less and less big sellers.

Keep in mind that eBay is ran my Republicans. Meg Whitman was a strong supporter of McCain during the election. So they're probably doing all they can to hurt the economy ...as in imposing selling limits to prevent sellers from making money. Nothing against Republicans, I'm not so much into politics myself, but hey ...it would make sense. :D

Nope, but there's an option to block bidders with -1, -2, or -3 feedback ...which is useless anyways since sellers can't leave negative feedback anymore. eBay is now becoming a useless mess.

Looked into that - agree, sadly. Too much buyer power empowerment - only you can do is to monitor your auctions all the time and cancel bids - silly.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR this is really p'n a brother off. Nice work ebay. Prolly did this to make me have a bad year. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! curses. I cant seem to find a way around it either. :(

I can definitely see this getting abused, this leaves the door open for sellers to create a monopoly for certain items. Just stop all new sellers dead in there tracks, ridiculous.

Yes, you can, but what kind of buyer has LOW feedback nowadays since all they can get is positives?

Oh, and I checked tonight, there is no block bidders who have "0" feedback any longer.

This is self destructive behavior. wonder what there motive for these policies are eBay has to have an underlying agenda other than making profits from eBay.. anyone with half a brain can see that these policies make impossible for you do any meaningful volume, which means eBay will be loosing out of fees. So one has to ask what is the real motive?

There slogan used to be "find it on ebay" but nowadays you can't find the hard to find item on eBay. better off on craigslist.

Ebay gets 89cents from me for nothing, every time I have to relist. I'm sure they don't mind getting that every time someone has to relist an unpaid item. I've had to relist something 3 times, so instead of it being just 89cents, it's 2.67. Multiply that by the thousand of people around the world that this happens to.....

Sure I get my final valuation fees back, but not the listing fees.

You should be able to block any level of buyer you choose, whether it be 0 feedback or more. Surely it's up to the seller who they want to block.

The only other option is they have to be phone verified, then if they don't pay get their, at least you can give them a call.:fight:

Or, just keep canceling their bids.

You can still send 2nd chance offers..... i sent out 6 last night for anything that was still a small profit. Fk ebay

yeah but not many people accept the 2nd chance offers,someone was sayin it was about 20%,lame,i had a few this last week and no one even replied!

eBay is limiting sellers with 100+ feedback now? Are you sure about that? I had a toprated sellers account just a few months ago selling over 100 items a month, unless they just put that into action.

I have an account with 1000+ items sold in the last 12 months, with over 1300 feedback, and it was just hit with a 100 items or $5000 per month limit.

You got to be kidding me.

The madness continues at ebay.

And I forgot to mention, the account has over 1300 all positives, not a single neutral or negative, with all DSRs above 4.7, for item as described even 4.9 and not even a single 1 or 2 DSR, ever.

There is always a way around for this, i also got 10 item limit, but after some days i was able to list 2 items. And when i try to list other item it show 10 item limit again.

And most important if you receive some positive feedback than it also works, system will allow you to list few items. I don't know why but i have experience that today.

As i said there is a way around, like how many feedback you have, how often you receive feedback's from others, and most important how Ebay system react.

for all people recieving these 10 item limits,are the items your selling expensive?
maybe these limits are for people who take alot of money each transaction!

No its nothing to do with price, everyone will receive this limit who are new seller on Ebay (less than 3 month old account). I am selling items under 5$ each.

Moreover Paypal has other limit which most people get when they receive more money, which you can find info. in Paypal discussion thread.
