| | | | | First Edition | 11-05-2010 03:48 PM | Thread for new people :) This thread is just a few quick bullet points regarding this forum, mainly for new people. Sure, I was new once, and I had to learn a lot of things the hard way...
If you're new to the forum, and new to stealth, please take the following very seriously:
Forum etiquette can be hard to learn... when sending someone a personal message, or "pm" do not delete the quoted text from the previous trail of messages. This is very rude, and also makes it hard for the person you're communicating with to keep up with a conversation. We're all here to help, and doing this very easy thing will help me(us) communicate with you better.
Reached your pm limit? Buy the stealth book! It goes up!
If you haven't purchased ebay stealth, do so now! It's the best 37 dollars money can buy! I don't mind answering questions, but the stealth guide has a wealth of knowledge you can benefit from. Not only regarding ebay, but ebay stealth works for many other sites as well. It will help you open your eyes and answer many questions you haven't even thought of yet.
No, paypal cannot see the name on your bank account!!!! The best way to withdraw funds is to add a bank account to paypal, and withdraw that way. The wal-mart money card is no good for stealth purposes. What bank accounts work? There is a long list in the stealth guide, and it's discussed many times in the subscriber section! How do you get into the subscribers area? BUY THE STEALTH BOOK!
Don't be worried to open new bank accounts for stealth puposes! There are literally thousands of banks across the world that will work with stealth, and they all want your business! You wont' throw up red flags to open a new checking account. People do it all the time!
It's a forum... a venue for open discussion... however this doesn't mean it's a place to come tell everyone you know what's what. We all learn from new ideas, but please realize you're dealing with people with a vast amount of knowledge from all walks of life. You'd be surprised at how much you can learn by browsing old threads, and asking for help. Courtesy and patience goes a long way. :)
That's all for now :)
Thanks |
| ebayerOG | 11-05-2010 06:23 PM | Perfect 1st read for the newbie :) |
| MadSam | 11-05-2010 08:29 PM | Let's hope first arrivals take this in. One other piece of PM etiquette - when replying with the quotes of the previous message either put your message at the end or beginning of the quote so that it is separate to the quotations. I've had newbies PM me with their message anywhere and it's been a search for it in the quotes. |
| GreenBean | 11-05-2010 08:35 PM | One other piece of etiquette is NOT to make the thread title
'Urgent, Help me'
Big turn off unless you are reporting your own death:rolleyes: |
| First Edition | 11-05-2010 08:37 PM | Haha.... yes. Urgent.... emergency, NOW.... these are not appropriate for stealth.
If death is eminent, this is the wrong forum :)
I just got an idea... emergency stealth!
Patience is a requirement in this business. |
| MadSam | 11-05-2010 08:40 PM | Hehe, this could go on for a while - one more - please o please not another thread about everybody's favorite law firm Johnson & Pham. Anybody concerned about legal threats please use the search feature, there is already so much. |
| GreenBean | 11-05-2010 08:40 PM | We've forgotten something as well! A bit of humor helps :cheer: |
| First Edition | 11-05-2010 08:45 PM | Yes, humor ALWAYS helps. |
| mememe1972 | 11-05-2010 09:41 PM | This is awesome and I think you guys have helped alot of us. I have earned more than they have taken away since I have invested my time into this forum.
At first I was a new born attempting to walk now I am a toddler running but still falling so kudos to you all and lets enjoy being free to earn as much a paypal will let |
very good yes and humor is what you need when you deal with ebay and PP:welcome; Quote:

LOL I'm just not seeing this.
Good stuff but I disagree with: Quote:

| I don't think it's rude at all to delete the quoted message. If I delete text it's probably because it's so long that it wont let me add more because of the text limit in PM's. People have done it to my messages and I took no offense to it what's so ever. That sounds more like a pet peeve to me. |
| First Edition | 11-16-2010 05:30 PM | Sure sure.... you are limited to 5000 characters in a pm, so sometimes you have to. I'm talking about the people that delete ALL of the text ALL the time. When you get 50 pm's a day, it's hard to remember people and subjects. |

Some people expect you to remember their life's story after one message, but they are really just one out of dozens daily. Oddly I have this problem more on YM. I get contacted by people who go into a full conversation without even letting me know who the hell they are like I just got YM and they were the only person I added. lol |

| MadSam | 11-18-2010 07:49 PM | Another part on PM/email etiquette. I'm happy to help people out when I can, I'm not marking people on grammar and punctuation but some goes a long way with politeness. And I'll admit that something like this: Quote:
hi madsam. i've read a lot of your posts on amazon and they are more than informative. i have a question that i hope you can answer...
| Is more likely to get a response than: Quote:
hooooooow the **** did you..........
| *Both examples of recent PMs received. |
| GreenBean | 11-18-2010 08:09 PM | Far more important that a newbie make a sensible post.
Over-worrying about the style of a pm should be a non-issue.
No smileys as part of a thread title are needed. They do not post.
Changing country flag is a NO NO. Flag is the country of registration NOT dreams ;) |
| MadSam | 11-18-2010 08:12 PM | No over-worrying about the style of a PM, just saying what's more likely to get a response. |
| holymoly | 11-18-2010 09:05 PM | Lol, I feel like all those "URGENT" threads are interesting...except the one last month where the guy "felt like dying"...WRONG FORUM! |
| MadSam | 11-22-2010 07:46 PM | ^^^Yes, perhaps a forum suggestion should be the option for the mods to be able to move something to another forum. |
| lucrative | 01-07-2011 05:55 PM | This looks like a very friendly and informative forum. I look forward to using it and contributing where i can.
Thanks |
| coz3001 | 01-11-2011 06:18 PM | I'm new to this forum, but have found it to be extremely informative. What a lifesaver for people who've been GOT by ebay and paypal. After losing a 1000+ FB account it's good to find a place with others who've experienced the same thing.
There is plenty of info on this forum, but for anyone new, like me, you really need to have 'Stealth Ebay' to provide a framework so the information will be understandable.
It would be like taking a class without having the textbook. The notes on the chalkboard can only get you so far. |
| ninjamaster | 02-03-2011 07:28 PM | Like this fourm sadly I have a bad story with ebay/paypal. |
| homeboi11 | 02-04-2011 12:39 AM | thanks thanks bro really helped |
| boxer1978 | 02-06-2011 11:29 PM | Can someone please tell me how to get into the subscriber forum.I purchased the ebay stealth a few weeks ago.
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks |

| Imakemoney | 03-15-2011 01:03 PM | have you used seperate windows user accounts for each of your different accounts?
You've probably been linked through cookies.
Buy the stealth guide and learn how to stay under the radar.
If you just keep buying accounts and using in this manner you will just be linked and suspended again. |
| catherinemcclanahan | 04-29-2011 05:53 PM | it's very good reading for newbies. |
| GreenBean | 05-12-2011 08:24 AM | Bump!!!!!
A little innovation!!!!
Try the SEARCH function.:juggle:
Wonderful thing to help find out things.
Your topic might just be in the right part of the forum and not where you are posting it ;) |
| First Edition | 05-12-2011 10:10 AM | Search is a wonderful thing; repetition..... not so much. |
| nellieou | 06-01-2011 02:09 PM | Thanks for the heads up! I've been reading through these forums for hours every day since subscribing, trying to learn as much as possible before asking any annoying questions. :) I appreciate all the advice any of you have in regards to speeding up that process for us newbies! |
| 4g3r4g3 | 07-03-2011 09:19 PM | Hello everyone,
excuse me if this has already been asked I tried to search as much as possible but didnt come with a definite answer yet.
My question is.. My ebay account as well as PP account got disabled months ago due to repeated VeRO violation on eBay... Im trying to set up a new stealth account, I have gone thru the book and Im not sure If i understand correctly... it says I have to set up a new bank account and a obtain a prepaid card... I have gone to my local bank in person and created a new bank account Ill be receivng my credit card for this account soon (my real name, address etc was given to bank upon creating).. now do I need the prepaid card to successfuly get verify my PP and link my PP to my new eBay account? Or can I just put in my new credit card number that Im getting with my new bank account?... I have read many times that PP nor eBay can't get my real personal data so I figured it would be safe to use my real CC to verify PP?? Thanks for giving me hand

| First Edition | 08-10-2011 03:01 PM | Not a problem. |
| Sandy D | 09-14-2011 10:50 AM | Now if we can get them to stop posting almost every day the same questions that was just asked yesterday.
Like
Can I use my Dads SSN, my friends name and address etc?
How long do I wait before I can list something?
Can I withdraw 1000 from pp my first time.
I know First you meant well with this and we were all new at one time and still learning new things everyday but to me it seems these and other questions are asked when 2-3 threads down the same question was just asked. |

I still take the stance that it takes more energy for 8 people to tell someone to search than it does to answer a question. |
