Creating a New Ebay Account - Personal or Business?
 

I want to create a new ebay account and just finished setting up paypal as a business account. Is there any advantage or disadvantage registering personal over business (ie, limits, listings, etc..) when it comes to signing up for ebay.

I would also like to sign up for a seller account. Which of their programs should I start with? I would like to start selling right away and have alot of inventory but dont want to have listing quantity limitations put on my account.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Premier and Business gives you more features and is preferred by most sellers.

I'm having the same question. Instead of creating a new thread, I'll just bump this one.

Is there any benefits to opening ebay business over personal? I've noticed that they're starting to create a username for personal accounts now. Are there any more stealthy requirements for a business ebay/paypal account?

I kind of assumed there might be a higher chance of them requesting receipts, business plans, ect if you register a business account.

Eventually they'll ask you to turn your account to a business account.
I would say start as personal for now and as you grow, and they ask you to change, change it then.

Any account has the chance of being asked for info.

It will depend on how the account is run.

Sellers should have whatever info paypal/ebay might need before doing business.

Always be ready for whatever might get requested.

Just funking around with a mix of personal/business accounts. I find that the ebay/pps that have business names get increased limits automatically, quicker. Just from recent findings.

I would advise that you go slow, use personal at first.

i made a post about this a few days ago. i made a Personal ebay acc. and listed a item and have no problems and so fare no stupid mc999 or other crap. just go with a Personal ebay acc. and you will be fine.

Don't use PP - why not go for something else? BUT - if you are going with eB and need the PP...a 5k payment is DANGEROUS for new account.
