What did they say you were suspended for? Was it abusing eBay, or linked to a previous acct?

abusing ebay.

well this

Your eBay account has been suspended. eBay took this action after determining that your account was acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies.

Yeah, the old standby "abusing ebay"..

Could be a number of different things, or combination of them:
- listing your first item too quickly
- listing too many items at one time
- selling "high risk" items without enough feedback (don't know how they determine what is "high risk")
- editing your listings too many times (stupid, but this is true)

It's really hard to say.. best advice I can give you is to just act like a newb with EVERYTHING that you do. Really put yourself into the mind of a new eBay user.. do what you think they would do. eBay keeps track of everything you do on their site, and how much time you spend on each part of the site.

Your accounts were linked to each other, so you weren't doing the best job of changing your IPs and deleting cookies between accounts.

You should change your Ip every time you switch to another account, or create a new IP. Never login with an old IP address. And always delete cookies between accounts and before you create a new account.

Also use real info, that isn't your own. Maybe a neighbor down the street…

Etc etc,

Does eBay check to see that it's real info, aspkin? I used to get by with completely ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info but maybe they changed how they do this..

the info i gave was ok. just the post code didnt match the address. but i thought that was ok probarly. how long would you wait after creating a sellers account before listing.

aspkin 01-29-2008 12:43 AM

Search create new IP in the forums, there are tons of threads dedicated to changing your Ip address. Not trying to brush you off, but lots of other threads to go through.

bigrab54 01-29-2008 12:50 AM

would it be worth re formatting my computer and starting a fresh.

christianbale 01-29-2008 12:53 AM

i find that real locations work best, it looks more safe, and who knows, they might check things like that, if a city doesn't match with a zip, etc

works good as long as----
-it hasn't been used before on a suspended account
-it doesn't have a name you've already used on a suspended account
-clean computer (cookies, etc)
-different ip addy

some say dialup is the best for changing ip....i will never go back to dialup, so i have a few ways that i change mine, a router helps greatly if you're using cable

bigrab54 01-29-2008 01:06 AM

If you use different a browser for every account does this save you clearing cookies. as long as you change you ip everytime.

koalawash 01-29-2008 01:40 AM
