When to sell

What would you say would be the best way to do this scenario. I want to open a brand new account. Turn it into a seller account. But do not sell. Just buy like 2 things a day. Watch items etc. Then like when I get 20 feedback, just do one of my big listings. I sell formula and I would prob dump it on there for a buy it now, $300, quantity of 3. Do you think I would be okay? By the way these accounts will be about a month old before I sell. I just dont know how slow to go.

So far so good.

RED FLAG and your account will likely be suspended/limited right there. You can't list $900 worth of items at once on an account that has never sold anything before. Sell your little brother's used bubble gum for $2 if you have to, then your uncle's used toilet paper for $5. After that, your grandmother's thong for $5 and wait for feedback to come in. I personally would not recommend listing $900 worth for the first 3 months. But if you absolutely have to, list 1x $300 item after you got some seller feedback coming in.

Thanks! This is the kind of info I am looking for! So what if I bought won of those 1 year old accounts. Would I be able to list one $300 on those? Not the big one just one little one like that?

Or even this scenario. Open 5 brand new accounts. Buy 5 things from each. Then list one item on each for a bid? It will probably go for about $100 each account. Would that be okay? I will make the account and start buying immediately and prob put up my first listing within a week. Would that be okay?

No way to truly find out until you try. While I appreciate all the knowledge and help I've gotten from the forum, most things you just have to do yourself and learn from the process.

I had plenty of scenarios just like this one where I had no idea what would happen and the only solution was to just try it. Even if it fails you gain valuable experience. How do you think the people that have all the solutions got to those solutions in the first place?

transitionfighter 12-14-2010 08:31 AM

Yeah and there are alot of things I have tried and learned from my experience from. I just wanted to see if someone else has done something similar to this and has any advice on a good, safe approach.

Your initial post was a good approach except the listing of $300 item. That can be tried after you have made about 50 odd sales of low end items - $1-20 and spread over 3 month time in my opinion.

Well you won't be able to ANYWAYS! You have a 500 dollar selling limit. You cannot sell over that until 30 days usually AND 20 feedback from being a SELLER, not BUYER.
