Go slow? Howd he get away with it

Hey we all heard that you need to take it slow to sell on ebay. Build feedback etc.
Then how come this person got away with selling four of those wholesale lists?
Item number
150524121564

jbluntz 12-16-2010 01:54 AM

That's just what the forum suggests since it's the safe way to go, I've sold stuff fast and built fb fast many times but thats something you get the feel for after experience not something you can tell someone how to do, so it's better to tell people to take it slow.

transitionfighter 12-16-2010 02:33 AM

Would you say it would be okay to open an account. Make it a seller account. Buy 5 items one day, 4 the next, then 2 the next. Get feedback. So thats 10 feedback. Then throw a listing up there for a bid? I sell formula and thats it.

transitionfighter 12-16-2010 02:37 AM

I got 40 bucks I can spend that I wouldn mind buying a little a day for like 3 days. As long as I could get a listing up

jbluntz 12-16-2010 02:44 AM

Yeah that would be safe since I always buy about 10 items a day till I get at least 20 fb then list an item but now I'm using new accounts less than 30 days and don't buy anything just listed a video game on 2 of em with zero fb and they sold no problem.

transitionfighter 12-16-2010 02:51 AM

Yeah I listed on a brand new eBay for a bid. Got locked up a min later with that damn MC010. I want to get this going quick so I can get some X-Mas money. I am going to start buying tomorrow so and hope to sell by Monday with feedback attached. Any other advice? I really admire it!

jbluntz 12-16-2010 02:57 AM

What did you list on the account?

transitionfighter 12-16-2010 02:58 AM

Formula. 9 Cans of Similac started bid at 19.99 no reserve and free shipping. They always go for about $100-$115.00.
As far as buying stuff could I buy formula coupons? I seen a bunch for like 1 and 2 dollars.

jbluntz 12-16-2010 03:06 AM

Yeah you can't start off selling lots, you gotta start with a few cheap items first, as far as the coupons you can pm me for that.

transitionfighter 12-16-2010 03:11 AM

Hit my pm limit for the day. But I will my man thanks for the advice!

You'll get suspended again. Buy for 30-60 days, then start selling. Otherwise you'll get MC010 sooner or later.

What is odd is that I list 1 item on a few 1 month old accounts that I have and a few of them get limited while others sell fine. =(

You need to face the reality that its just too late for that now I'm afraid. You simply can not expect to sell and have the cash in hand in a few days. It will just end in disappointment I'm afraid.

You may be able to build up some quick sales and have some cash in PayPal, but getting your hands on it wont be so simple. You will almost certainly face a 21 day hold on a new account so keep that in mind.

transitionfighter 12-17-2010 01:12 AM

I actually just sold something on a one month old account! I avoided the 21 day hold by sending an invoice to the buyer outside eBay. Shipped it. No hold. Took all the money, went to walmart.com. Bought everything I needed for xmas and paid extra for express shipping. Will have it just in time! Thanks everybody for the great advice!!!!

Nice work!
Good to hear happy stories this time of year

transitionfighter 12-17-2010 01:24 AM

Really is but its only because of what I learned from here! I know that that eBay is going to get suspended but hey, paid my fees and time to move on!

shogun1 12-17-2010 01:04 PM

90 percent of the work is getting organized and getting your system right, once you organize what you want to do on paper, executing is the easy part

ive started 3 accounts before on the same day and listed the exact same things with 0 feedback on a 1 hour old account just for data and 1 got suspended and 2 didnt.I think at the end of the day guys who work at ebay are like cops, they see you speeding and some are gonna ticket you and some arent

rsot 12-17-2010 01:11 PM

And that's putting it at a low-level analysis shogun1 ha - good metaphor but so many factors. Anyhow, a nice Xmas story so to speak.

This is great for BUYER FEEDBACK, but seller feedback. Sell an e-book/wholesale list/etc. Heck, you can even make a profit if you sell the RIGHT wholesale list...
