Dhgate and dhl: Need help with tracking
 

Ok... I have a package that I have been waiting on for some time from DHGATE..

The sellers usually use EMS, but this time they used DHL.. The seller keeps saying.. "Dear Friend, Your package is on it's way. Don't you worry. Be patient".

Well... It is a week later and the tracking number still won't show up. It starts with a 2 and is a ten digit number.

I don't know if DHGATE is being shady or if DHL is terrible.. I don't know what to do. I have never used DHL before. When I call them they say that there is no record of my package.

Please help because I have some angry customers! :(

DHL is faster than EMS. You have to understand that CHRISTMAS is around the corner.. MILLIONS of packages are bring shipped from everywhere.. This time of year all the Postal Services are BACKED UP..

Just relax and wait.. you will get your items *if it clears customs*

As for your customers... You shouldn't list something you don't have physically. I wish you the best though.

Also the package may not have been dropped off at the postal service yet.. My rule is to wait a week before panicking.

DHL is far from terrible. Usually when I get DHL tracking numbers from sellers they work right away saying "DHL has been notified to expect a shipment" or something along those lines until they actually receive the package and process it at which point it looks like any other tracking...

Another thing to consider is it is the busiest shipping season of the year so they could be backed up... a week is a pretty long time though, did the seller specifically state that DHL was already in possession of the shipment?

I would open a dispute.. Light some fire under the seller. A week is a long time.

This was actually for my web based business and not ebay. Put in the wrong category. Whoops.. Thank you for the help. This is the best news I have heard from anybody about DHL. I get nervous with new carriers.

DHL is faster than EMS if both are can be tracked but EMS is more easier clearing custom than DHL.

When you put in an order at DHgate, the seller will always issue a tracking number in advance. That way you cannot cancel the order. Once they've got your money, they will never tell you the item is not in stock. Sometimes it will take up to 2 weeks before they actually ship it out because it was back ordered. Never sell items you have not physically received.
