Creating Accounts with an iPad??

I was thinking about getting an iPad and using it to create accounts. Does anyone else use one? I know I can get a differnt IP address but the only problem is I wouldnt be able to get multiple user accounts.

I'm waiting until next year when Windows 7 running Internet Explorer, etc will be able to be streamed to ipads, and android devices. You should check into that whenever you have the time. I saw a demo of it running, and it was flawless....

I use a Ipad for a Ebay and Amazon account but thats the only downfall is you can only get 1 account of each one. My main purpose on the Ipad is to watch movies and tv shows when I fly.

And if your accounts fall? Can you a do a flash of the disk and reconfigure NICs, and MACs and whatever?

Here is something I just found. There is an app in the itunes store called "Switch", it is $4.99 . It gives you a series of user accounts with avatars or pics of your choice. Tapping on your user account takes you into a separate browsing session with your own bookmarks, history, cookies, cache, and logged in Web accounts.

Another company from Europe allows you to stream Windows 7 onto your ipad, this way you'll have windows 7, flash, user accounts, etc streamed directly onto your ipad from a super computer, not the same as VmWARE. Heres their site

You use iPad 3G ?

aking 12-27-2010 11:02 PM

Nope I just picked up the wifi only iPad. I couldn't justify paying another $30/month for data plan when I already have a 4G iPhone. I think there's a way to tether the 3G from your iPhone to your iPad. I need to do some research. I must admit this thing is pretty sweet. :)

I use MyWi for my Iphone 3GS, it broadcasts a Wifi signal which you can connect to via your desktop, laptop, ipad, etc..

Is that the little gray thing that you have the carry around with you? It cost like $150 and still have to get a data plan with MyWi right?

lakeman 12-29-2010 03:02 AM

No.. That's Mifi. Mywi is an iPhone App. I downloaded a cracked version for free. I just have the normal iPhone plan, no tethering plan and it works great.

As long as you're using 1 iPad per 1 eBay account, you should be perfectly fine :D

Did you have to jailbreak your iPhone? I don't see Mywi in the iPhone apps....

lakeman 12-29-2010 10:02 AM

Yes it's jailbroken. It's not in the app store, search it on google..

ATM, Ipad is only useful for ONE account on eBay/Amazon.

Wait till later on when you can run a VPS off of it.

Technically, I should be able to actively sell on my ipad. I downloaded an app (Switch) that gives you separate user accounts and I can get a different ip address. I should be all set to sell.

AND I can do all this from work!!

Now I just need to get the iPad docking station with keyboard and I'll be all set! :bounce:

Anyone out there create and sell on their iPad/Iphone with any problems? I'm about to create an account on my ipad and try it.

HurricaneHuntr 01-20-2011 12:27 AM

Waiting for the droid devices to hit. I just wipe my phone and restore a nandroid backup each time i switch ebay accounts at work.

holymoly 01-20-2011 04:41 PM

Well that is always one thing to do. As of recent (last 2 months I checked). There was nothing out on the market yet to switch around IPs on the iPad.

Red X 01-20-2011 05:45 PM

If you all need flash on your apple ipad, or iphone download SkyFire, works like a charm. You'll then be able to view content you once couldn't on your apple devices. :)

ParkAvenueChic 01-22-2011 03:06 PM

If you have the iPad 3G can't you make more than one ebay account on it since the ip is always different?

aking 02-04-2011 03:07 PM

I just noticed something that's not very good with creating accounts with an ipad using the Switch app. Well, unfortunately this app doesn't seem to keep cookies separate. I just created an account on one user name, then i created a new username and email account, then when I went to ebay.com to register, it still showed my ebay id from the other account, which is BAD!! This tells my that cookies are not separate and I'll be linked if I make another account.

There's also a few other things I noticed with creating accounts on ipad that seem to be a problem.

If anyone has done it correctly without being linked, let me know.
