Offering alternative even though my auctions say I take paypal

I'm back selling again but I got this stupid "P" next to all my listings that suggest I take paypal as payment and there's nothing I can do about it unless I get a merchant account. I intend on putting a disclaimer at the top of my auction which directs them to my ebay FAQ telling ppl I don't take paypal anymore because of fraud and my dislike for the company but will this be enough for buyers? Again my auction does say I take paypal by default. What has been everyone's experience if any in this situation?

HI- Theyre gonna have a reason to back out of the sale now..
Sign up for a cnnow acct--send them a link- ccnow takes pp for you... then deposits the cash into your ck acct- no limits either

But if they read my disclaimer why would they want to pay me thru paypal?

GreenBean 02-07-2008 09:22 PM

Are you really expecting the buyer to READ the faqs? They might say ......
(censored by me!) And the sales are lost. It is my experience that buyers read
only what suits THEM and not what they should.

I'm under the delusion I won't get alot of resistance as long as ppl are able to use their CC. People only get irate when I suggest they get off their asses and send me a money order.

Thay don't read!!!
When I list items for a friend I lead off that if there are any questions they should phone the actual seller direct and they still send messages.

I offer customers a discount for using the merchant account, and sometimes it works.
