Question about Seller Performance

Hey guys I was wondering, if a buyer files an SNAD dispute and you go ahead in refund the buyer without the buyer or you exculating it to a claim, will your performance get digged because of this?

I ask this because I won a dispute and eBay say's it won't count on my seller performance... however... What would have happened if I just refunded the guy without getting eBay involved?

In doing searches I came up with this post. Didn't know if you still wanted a response but I will tell you what I know.

All opened buyer protection cases count against your performance. If you escalate the case to a claim (get ebay involved) AND you win as the seller, then it won't count. That's the only way it won't count.

If I understand your question correctly you wanted to know what would have happened if you wouldn't have escalated it and just refunded the buyer. It would have counted against your 4 / 1% allowance and it would have left you worse off (since you did win the escalated dispute).
