| lostsub | 01-18-2011 10:11 PM | For Amusement Only From one of my buyers....
"I never received this item. I'm not sure why it would have taken this long, but I see that you have a lot of positive feedback so I don't think there has been any foul play. I'm guessing that the item was re-routed to you rather than it being delivered. I have a weird address that UPS, USPS and FedEX all hate. I'm right in the middle of the City and my building's number is 111 1/2. that HALF part screws them up a lot.
I can give you a different address if this is the case. Unless maybe you forgot to ship it. Not sure. Let me know what you know. Thank you!"
I get this kind of stuff all the time...just posting it to remind people that the key to Ebay is patience patience and more PATIENCE.
So their address is "weird" and the Post Office. UPS, and FedEx don't like it? I suppose I should have known that and sent it by...ummm teleportation.
Of course they got the tracking but can't read it.
And yes there was "FOUL PLAY" involved and it was HIM. Hahaha. |
| holymoly | 01-19-2011 03:26 PM | Well I would just wait it out. If you shipped it out in DEC. then you are having slow shipping cuz the holidays. |

Todays entertaining message today from another buyer... "I got the wrong (part) for the printer. is there anyway can you cancel everything and refund me the money? there is no need for the (part).. Or do I still have to mail it back to you? Please email me soon xxxx AT hotmail.com"
They didn't read the description or look at pictures at all, but they want to know I would just refund them and be done with it. Hilarious....sure why not? I send stuff out all the time and let people keep it for no charge...isn't that normal?
Anyway don't worry I'll fix it. I'm just posting this for entertainment purposes.
The scary part is though that these people probably drive cars, and possibly even have a job...although that's maybe a stretch ;-)
I ship quite a few items every day....just showing the day to day things we all go through. The thing is after a while (I've sent over 15,000 packages) you get better and better with dealing with it without bruising the feelings of the buyer even though they might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer. |
| HurricaneHuntr | 01-19-2011 07:24 PM | I love the "where is my item " emails... Ebay says the item was supposed to be here on xxx... never mind that the last 2 days were holidays and there was no mail, but anyway where is my item? ( If they are usa they alll receive tracking ) in their email.. But still... they ask like they can't track it. i mean wtf? Do they not know? Everything i order, i get the tracking immediately. How about not blocking paypal/ebay emails as spam? Onlyu thing good about that is when they suspend you at least they miss the hate letter ebay sends about you being a fraud... even though you are not |

I swear eBay has some algorithm that picks up peoples stupidity and somehow lures them in to shopping on the site... Not sure how, but they get them by the millions... The percentage of idiots is simply too high. If the human race is really full of idiots in the percentage seen on eBay its time for a meteor to hit the planet and start over... Quote:

I love the "where is my item " emails... | My biggest peeve. I blast them with tracking and a short reminder on time and it just doesn't matter. I can not count how many "where is it" I get literally 3 business days after order.... I don't know how or why they ever got the idea buying online was so fast. I was talking to a PP rep the other day and a ton of calls they field are from buyers freaking out about the item they bought 4 or 5 days before
My latest was from Canada to Norway, standard shipping, freaking out he "hadn't received and was a victim of fraud and was calling the cops".... He ordered Thursday 11 pm my time and this was Tuesday noon.... |
| holymoly | 01-20-2011 04:38 PM | Wow, sometimes I wonder if everyone who buys on eBay is mentally handicapped...(is that politically correct to say?) |
| cataclysMic22 | 01-30-2011 03:29 AM | better question: is there a politically correct way to say "ebay"? :noidea: |
| bork_bork | 02-01-2011 08:35 PM | Here's one I got a couple days ago.
"WHERE IS MY ITEM
Just wanted to let you know that UPS website states that it was delivered to my house and left on my front porch. However it was not there. I have contacted UPS and they are looking into it."
Now what do I do here? IT was delivered within 48 hours from the end of the auction. I don't really think the guy is lying but what can I do I gave him all the UPS info for insurance and such but I'm pretty sure he's going to be an A$$ and hit my DSR on something that I can not control. |
| holymoly | 02-06-2011 02:24 PM | Sucks when that happens^^^ |
| postmodern | 02-07-2011 10:30 PM | so typical of ups leaving packages on the porch!!!
the buyer may be lying too... but half the time i order things, ups leaves the package on my doorstep.. |

I totally agree. Once it has been delivered, it becomes the postal service's problem - not yours.
However, when it happened to me, I sent my customer another item so they did not have to wait, and then waited myself for 2 months until Canada Post reimbursed me. |
| tse87 | 02-08-2011 04:42 PM | On one of my old accounts I had a customer say that when he received the $450 Blackberry I sent him, it was an empty box. He easily won the case of course... Has anyone else had this happen? Isn't this pretty much the easiest scam EVER to get away with? Just say every box you get is empty on big ticket items, especially if the seller has a low rating? I mean, how can you, as the seller, prove that the item was actually in the box? It's ridiculous. |

Ya...that happened! |
| sonicbooze | 02-14-2011 08:29 PM | I had UPS 'deliver' a pkg to my porch.
Said so on the paperwork.
I don't even have a porch, you can call home and ask my wife.:D
As the resident eBayer on my street,
I routinely get everybody's packages, whether they are mine or not.
Fortunately, one of my neighbors was honest,
and personally delivered my expensive graphics tablet.
Personally I have had nothing but trouble with UPS,
they get mad (or scared) when they see my steps.
Sooner give my shipments to an irate gorilla at the zoo......
Lost packages are a rarity, but they can happen.
Usually these scammers fade into the woodwork
when you mention the magic words "postal investigation" |
| bork_bork | 02-14-2011 08:51 PM | I don't think he is a scammer. I had my TV delivered from New Egg last winter (in Wisconsin mind you) and they just left it on my porch at 8pm. Luckly I was home but If I wasn't someone could have easily threw it in a truck. They have insurance of $100 free and this was just a $50 item so I'm not overly concerned but UPS is taking so long to resolve it I'm sure a netural feedback would be my best hope:mad2: |
