| mrtag | 02-18-2008 07:18 PM | Help with Ebay account Good day everyone.
This is my first post but believe you me I have done lots and lots of reading.
This is my problem:
I was on ebay from 2005 till now when I got suspended for selling items that were not promitted on ebay. I was close to 200 + possitive feedbacks. I have tried to start up a new account using new email address, someone else name, different phone # and even did the IP reset thru the modem and router by unpluging and even tried IPCONFIG to reset. But no luck they suspended me again when I listed a couple of items..I even re-registered on a friends computer and still no luck....
Can anyone help me in what direction I should be going....
Thanks |
gitrooman | 02-18-2008 07:23 PM | why were you suspended the 2nd and 3rd time? If you werent linked, your best bet is to try to reinstate your account fill out this form and submit all required info. chances are they will reinstate you without a problem. |
mrtag | 02-18-2008 07:36 PM | this what they said:" We're writing to tell you that we have suspended your eBay account because our records indicate that it's associated with the following suspended account" how do they no that???? |
koalawash | 02-18-2008 07:38 PM | You're clearing your cookies all the time, right? |
koalawash | 02-18-2008 07:39 PM | Also, never use the same passwords for eBay or Paypal. They will link you with that. |
mrtag | 02-18-2008 07:45 PM | i have empty the cookies. And tried using a new password.
This is what they said in the email they sent me:
"We're writing to tell you that we have suspended your eBay account because our records indicate that it's associated with the following suspended account:
***About the eBay Previously Suspended Users Policy***
Unfortunately, while your account is suspended, you're not permitted to use eBay at all. This includes using another existing account, registering a new account, or using any eBay services -- under any name. |
koalawash | 02-18-2008 07:55 PM | Yeah, they always say that..
Whenever you change the IPs, are you keeping track of which IPs to use for each account? It's possible you just landed on another one that you had used before, even though you keep changing it. |
mrtag | 02-18-2008 08:03 PM | thanks for the reply.....What about when I re-registered on a friends computer it would of regonized is IP address on registration. But when i open the account on my computer would it pick up my IP address ? and when they put 2 and 2 together and suspened me again. |
koalawash | 02-18-2008 08:08 PM | Yes, to be safe you would have had to use your friend's computer (or any other IP you haven't used) each time you log into the account. If you log in to your account with ANY IP that has been blacklisted by eBay before .. even once .. it's game over. |
mrtag | 02-18-2008 08:19 PM | ok thanks
Maybe Im doing something wrong when I say I reset my IP address. This what I do : unplug the power source for 30-60 seconds and plug it back in. and then I Go to Start -- Run -- type in "cmd " a black prompt screen will pop up. I type in "ipconfig /release" . Once this is done I unplug the modem power source, wait a couple minutes and plug it back in. will this be good enought. Cause I also unplug the router and plug it back in. Is there anywhere you can go on the computer to see the IP address before and after the change is done????

mrtag | 02-18-2008 08:35 PM | I just tried to reset my Ip address but it did not change....So that would be my problem......Cause when I check the before and after it shows the same ip address. so when I re registered with ebay my ip was never changed... |

mrtag | 02-19-2008 08:46 AM | if you change your ip# but use the same name and phone# as before are they able to tell.... |
sycore | 02-19-2008 09:41 AM | Find your router/modem model here to find how to get into the interface. PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall
Some cable modems do not have an user interface though. Once you find how to access your modem interface, go to the Home network section, you are looking for the LAN DHCP Settings. Go to the lease time option and change it to 11 seconds, instead of 1 day. Click save changes. Wait 11 seconds then unplug you r modem, or if you know your user and password. Go to the login section and disconnect, wait at least 11 seconds then reconnect.
If all else fails, use SMAC 2.0 to spoof you MAC address and this should get you new ip address, unless your internet provider is suppling you a static ip. Most IPS charge extra for giving you a static ip instead of dynamic one. |
mrtag | 02-20-2008 11:00 AM | whats the difference between ip address and mac ip address???
thanks |
Chris Hanson | 02-20-2008 02:48 PM | mac address ids your network card address(the card that u plug ur DSl or cable Ethernet cord into), your Ip address is the address of your cable or dsl modem... | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:50 AM. | |
