Will it be ok to buy a Ebay seller account + PP if i live in Mexico?
 

Well that's it, i'd just like to confirm this situation, i found a good and reliable seller which i'd like to dropship from, but since i live in Mexico, well, i just want someone to confirm if it'll be ok to buy a seller account from some of the seller of this website (the seller's section!!), i've PMed them but i haven't received response yet, any thoughts?

you might have trouble b/c of you IP address will be in mexico but im not 100%. the account will be a U.S. account and you live in mexico. i dont think it would work.

drop-shipping AND an account not based in the country you live could be trouble.

Why? drop-shipping is only as good as the supplier. You need to make sure you have the funds to cover any problems like refunds & finding another supplier.

running accounts from another country is sometimes difficult. It is preferable not to make too much trouble even before you start to list items

What do you mean Mercurial?, people from those countries can purchase from Ebay.com anyway

I would like to add that I have been living overseas for 18 months now and have UK Ebay accounts.

The main options for obtaining a clean IP from another country are:

1.VPN, must be dedicated
2.International roaming on a mobile dongle(though this is extremely expensive in most cases)
3. Having a server to connect to your desired country - VPS.

I prefer VPS, as there is an element of doubt for me with VPN, if you have multiple accounts it can work out quite expensive though, a VPS provider will often give you say 5 IP addresses (more on request) but those IP's are concurring IE. 1.2.33.444 then 1.2.33.445 and so on, so if Ebay were looking at your accounts under the microscope, then you could be linked. So you may want to consider multiple VPS, if you have numerous accounts.

So as far as IP addresses goes its not a problem, but if you are selling in a country that is not your own then I guess you would have to think about how you are going to get hold of your money, bank accounts etc.

Yes, but if I move to Germany for example I think it would make sense to sell on Ebay.de and the other nordic countries surrounding Germany.


The listings would be in English + German for example as I speak/write both fluently.


For example I can login to Ebay.de and Ebay.uk with my current account. However for Ebay.hu it tells me something to "register something" I think, as I don't quite understand Hungarian.

Ok so If you have a US account, and say sign into Ebay DE, do your items appear on the German list or the overseas sellers at the bottom of the page?

I thought that VPN is not a good idea and eBay would eventually find out? I was thinking of doing that for ebay.de as i am not so interested in USA ebay.
