Linked by tracking Numbers?
 

Can you be linked by tracking numbers? Because if you use the stamps.com account for example the first 8 or so numbers are the same everytime.

Samething if you use a UPS account, your account number is in every tracking number

I don't think you can be tracked by tracking numbers, I usually use tracking numbers i pick up personally at the post office, and they have the first 8 numbers as the same most of the time, and i have used them on numerous accounts without any probs.

No. A USPS tracking number identifies the type of service, the service provider (ie. Stamps.com or Endicia.com) and then assigns a package number. The USPS could, I assume, trace it back to you, but eBay cannot link on the numbers in and of themselves.

I've had this same question.

I have two PP accounts.

I print postage with account A and then use the tracking number that's generated and upload it to account B as Proof of Shipment.

Is that traceable?

a UPS tracking number has the holders account number in it, for example

1Z556W2R

If your account number is 556W2R then every tracking number you get will have that number in the beginning of it.

So what if you use tracking numbers from that account on 2 different accounts?

That is different. Since PayPal has the information, YES, they could potentially link them that way.

Just as an FYI... I was only referring to USPS tracking numbers in the above post. I have no idea how the UPS tracking system works.

Odd you mention this because when I did not print my postage online and used the green delivery confirmation numbers I made sure I ordered some online, picked up some at the different Post offices I shipped from so the numbers would not be so close together.
