A question about the operation of user accounts.
 

Ok, i need the pros to shed some light here and correct me if im doing anything wrong.
I'll write the step by step process of how i log into different eb accnts.

Lets say i have 2 user accounts on my computer, 1 is R and the other is S.
R is the UA with cookies from a suspended accnt and S has cookies from a clean accnt.

1.im logged in R, i change my ip.(did not access eb or pp after changing ip)
2.log out of R.
3.Log into S.
4. Use eb.
5.log out of eb.
6.log out of S.
7.log into R.
8.change the ip back.

Do the cookies or ip get checked only when i open eb or pp page, or they can retrieve that info even if i dont open their webs?

I dont know if i said it right.

and can i check my gmail without changing the UA and IP everytime and open eb or pp mails?

(i have the settings on ask before displaying pics)

I am in UK and have been doing what you describe in your first post. I am ok for now - its been only 2 months though.

I 'think' it should be ok coz you have not logged into any accounts which would make the 'cookies' kick in - hopefully one of the computer geniuses can explain more.

Funnily enough, I had the same question in my head from day 1 when I first setup a few months ago.

You can only 'check' your gmail accounts without changing your UA and IP and DO NOT click on an links in the email unless you are on the correct ip and user account in windows. Make sure you dont display pics and ideally have the emails coming in as 'plain text' not 'html'.

I have outlook 2010 setup with 10 gmail accounts but before anything, I setup outlook to display no pictures and display only 'plain text' emals and then put in my 10 gmail accounts - if I get any emails, I do not click on any links, I just read the 'plain text'.......

....... If the email needs responding to, I log off the windows user I am on and log onto the appropriate windows user change the ip and log into gmail / pp / eb and work from there.

For me its the quickest way I found so far for playing around.

If you've been doing the same thing for 2 months now then most probably it's safe.
lol, I had this question from day one too. I never click on the pics or the links in the mail.
Just read the text.

Another funny thing is going on with me, whenever i change the mac address on my router setttings page, it changes the IP instantly without me turning the modem off. Dont know whats up with that, i referesh and open different IP checking pagees and they all show the new IP.
