ok....let me see...how do i explain this

There is a famous gift package that a certain company sells. This package has 2 items in it. one of the items is from one famous company, the other one is from another famous company.
I dont sell perfumes but lets say Calvin Klein perfume and Luis Vuiton purse, combined as a gift package.

I bought a bunch of these and so far I have sold 5. 4 people have complained about the purse, but not about the perfume.
I think the perfume quality is great, but for some reason people are hating the purse.

So in my listing, do I say this is for a Calvin Klein perfume and a brandless purse? so if they complain, I can say I never claimed the purse has a brand?
do I say this is for a Calvin Klein perfume and a surprise gift? so if they complain i can say you didnt pay for it, if you dont like it, then throw it away?
how would you handle this? do I cut my losses and sell just the perfumes and destroy the purses?

If I catch your "drift" correctly it seems that if you are selling a purse that is suspicious that will only make them suspicious of your perfume too. 4 out of 5 buyers? That's way out there.
I don't think even including the purse for free is a good idea. Give em away to friends or something.

Louis Vuitton purses go for around 1k++, No company sells these with calvin klein perfume.. So thats the problem, and believe me or not people know it. Can get your account in trouble. What you do is sell them seperately or just sell the perfume. Hope this helps

I would just sell it as purfume with a free purse. People won't complain if the purse is free, you will have to sell it at the price the purfume goes for and nothing more. Just my two cents.

If the purse actually has the brand name on it then do not sell them together.

I wouldn't put the purse out there. ANYTHING that generates an 80% complaint ratio will only lead to account closure, or worse.

A 80% complaint ratio is much higher then selling counterfeit Rosetta Stone software. When I sold those my complaint ratio was about 25% and had many accounts closed.

yup selling the horrible rosetta stones... i lost so much to those damn bootlegs

I dont know if this makes a difference to the answers that i will be getting, but the items I am selling are not perfumes or purses. I just gave those as examples. They are 2 popular things, one of them is made by a famous company, so is the other one. I dont know who officially distributes them or what agreements these companies have with each other, but there is a gift package that is offered which contains item #1 and item #2...I bought some chinese ones and item #1 is great and impossible to detect. item #2 is very poorly made. If I sell item #1 only, I will get about $25. If I sell them together, I can get a lot more, like $80.

i only lost so many good accounts but i know what i was getting into. i dont do it anymore.


@bart, yea, just make 1 item for free with the other item, make the cheaper free.

How about you Try 2 Hail Mary's and 1 Our Father Everytime you sell One, It might help with that 80% Complaint Ratio,,,It Certainly Could Not Hurt,,
