| | | mercurial333 | 04-10-2011 02:49 PM | Buyer tried to sent payment but it was automatically reversed by Paypal So this buyer tried to send payment for an item aprox. 150$, two times already, it got reversed both times, after a few minutes. He contacted me asking whats up, since he was confused himself, he mentioned he was getting an error at the end of check out. Maybe browser related?
Also just last week another buyer with 1k feedback tried to send payment for an item and got reversed a few hours later, he too contacted me and asked why I refunded him. I told him that I didn't, and that somebody already bought that item the same day, so I was out of stock, and since the two buyers were aprox. 50 minutes apart in sending payments, I thought the payment was reversed because the item was not available 50 minutes later. Figured it was something like, the other buyer beat him to the checkout so the item became unavailable later on. This user never mentioned anything of an error.
It shows in my Paypal up, both the payment and the reversal, yet nothing on Ebay (I figured Ebay has a small delay when telling you an item is sold).
You guys have any input on this? |
tszyuenc | 04-10-2011 05:35 PM | i have the same problem too!

| As I said it doesn't show up on Ebay as "Sold". Only shows up in Paypal. First "Payment Complete" and hours later "Reversal".
The buyer today mentioned he was getting some kind of errors at checkout, I don't know what kind or any details, but the the buyer from last week did not mention anything about errors. |
mercurial333 | 04-12-2011 12:51 AM | I contacted Paypal today. They have no clue why it happens, and told me they would have their technician investigate it.
Then I contacted Ebay, they had less of a clue than Paypal, since the transactions didn't even show on MyEbay yet.
And today again, two different buyers tried to send payments for two completely different items and same thing, payments were reversed minutes later. First buyer tried 5 times, and it got reversed each time. Second buyer tried two times, and same thing.
In the mean time I sold about 10 times yesterday and today, so I have no clue what is going on.
I found some more info here: http://tamebay.com/2008/09/paypal-tr...t-warning.html
Some users mentioned there that after buyers tried multiple times it went thru.
I have closed 2 of my listings, and re-listed them few minutes later and told one of my buyers to try again, but even then the payment was reversed. |
FightforFreedom | 04-12-2011 08:42 PM | I had about 5 different accounts that had paypal reversals and some people that cant purchase my items on ebay, because it reverses the payment right away. I had about $300 taken from me total with no messages saying I restricted or doing anything wrong, weird. And about 6 people emailing me saying they cant purchase the item. All the items are around $30 each. |

It seems to be a common problem after a bit more research. I have item of 50$ which I sold 10+ of, and only 1 buyer didn't manage to checkout successfully.
Then I have 400$-500$ item, and the same buyer tried multiple times during different hours, and still didn't manage. Only to have a different buyer come few hours later and grab that item.
3 buyers already reported me that they were getting some errors at checkout. It seems to vary, probably from browser to browser.
Some guy on the Ebay forums suggested to pay for an Ebay item, from your Paypal account. Via "send money" ---> "pay for ebay item". I will suggest this to my buyers, to see if it works for them.
And again today I missed about 3 sales, because of this issue. |
Imback2010 | 04-12-2011 10:23 PM | Excellent Info.
Thanks! |
FightforFreedom | 04-13-2011 04:38 PM | Thats what I have been doing to save 4 of my sales. In paypal hit the request money button at the top then create an invoice with all the same prices and items and put their email in and send it. 4 done this way with no reversals so far, that makes me think its a Ebay issue. I have a buyer that gave me a positive and still the funds got reversed going to call paypal and find out further. This is a major **** up and the people going through this is also a very costly one for some. |
Same here, I randomly get this like 1 time every 10 sales, my main concern is will this jeopardise my account and have it limited? |

:peace: |
I think its mor common than you think, I do the same thing as I do on my other accounts but it just happens randomly |
Imback2010 | 04-17-2011 10:36 PM | Happened to me 7 times today
Wtf?
It could be the product.:suspicious:
It has happened to me since my last batch of products in the middle of march which was about ten and now its six.
5 out of out of 12 or something like that |
tszyuenc | 04-18-2011 01:41 AM | this is still happening to me everyday...on different acc.
all the sell are around $40-90 |
Same happened to me. I called PayPal and the agent advised me to invoice the buyer using paypal and include ebay item number. The account specialist said it is glitch and they are working on it. It's not the seller nor buyer problem. |

Here We Go Again | 04-20-2011 08:39 AM | I have seen this ALSO.
Log into your eBay account.
Go to the "Account" tab
Go to the "Site Preferences"
Go down to the "Buyer Requirements"
Right below this is a link called "Buyer Requirements Activity Log"
This shows all the buyers that have attempted to make purchases from you and were unable to do so.
On the far right you will see the reason why.
This list is a direct reflection of your "Buyer Requirements" list.
You can see international buyer ID's but not the names of the US based buyers.
These names are not listed due to privacy issues.
Each one of these people attempted to make a purchase from you.
Each one was blocked.
The purchase never shows up in your "SOLD ITEMS"
And the attempted purchase does NOT show up in your Paypal account at all. |

I just checked your post right now.
The thing is when I do that right now, it only shows 2 buyers dating back from April 20, both were blocked for buying too many items. You can't seem to be able to select the dates that you want to see. If those are all the users that were blocked, then the problem was elsewhere, since I had aprox 15 transactions from different buyers that were blocked during the month of April.
The good part is, that it hasn't happened since May. So I'm happy, it was pretty stressful.
