Shipping, improving DSR's..
 

So ebay, limited and stopped my account, then after an email, they reinstated it rather quickly. I was quite surprised!

Ive been trying to do everything i can to keep my dsr's up now. Asking everyone who buys something to leave 5 stars and offering more calculated and free shipping. It seems that's where i got the lowest ratings. Can somebody leave dsr's on calculated shipping? Jacking up the weight a bit makes up for the outdated postal prices in the system. Im pretty sure with free shipping you can't rate postal prices right?

I had something kind of freaky happen. I obtained an expensive gadget, and this guy contacted me saying that he had 'in fact purchased back his own 'stolen' inventory. I wrote him back immediately saying i got them from a charity store. I in fact found them downtown abandoned. He never wrote back and left neutral feedback saying 'fast friendly transaction'. He got his wife to do the trans, that eventually turned into a unpaid item case.

Hopefully i dont hear anymore on this. Couple days have past now...

What do you guys do to keep your dsr' ratings up? Do you guys ask people to leave 5 stars on every purchase?

Use free shipping a lot when I first open an account to boost it for any future low DSR's. Then after that just use free shipping on certain small items and other special offers etc etc

I always dispatch the very same day or second day if I cannot do same day dispatch. I do it because you cannot rely on the postal delivery services to get the item on time. Also ebayers expect it! :rant:

I don't always say that I dispatch same day in my listing though ;) I would rather that be a suprise sometimes :lol: Suprise them with quicker than expected delivery can result in 5 stars being left.

I also always have some sort of comms with the customer before and after transaction. This is to get 5 star comm dsr as sometimes they will leave low comms if you do not actually communicate with them...self explanatory.

Also never put information that is not true in the listings, just because it will help sell the item, makes ebay buyer very mad does it! :laugh:

In terms of asking for 5 star feedback, I do not, if the buyer does not want to leave feedback then I am not asking!

I know if u offer free shipping u get an auto 5 star but also if u add tracking to item they now give u an auto 5 star if the shipping time is at or below what u have in ur shipping info

We have to work with it and to our best abilities if we want to stay on e bay!

The NUMBER ONE thing you can do to improve DSR's is ship fast. Number two would be accurately rating the condition of your item, if it is used.

ShadyOne is right, it is best not to tout immediate shipping in your listings. Let the customer be pleasantly surprised. That leads to 5 star DSR's.

The quickest way to LOW DSR's is to overrate the condition of your item. I see items flagged as Brand New, but then you read the description, and it goes something like "I only used this a few times, until my dog knocked it over and it fell in the swimming pool. But I immediately went in after it, and the water damage wasn't TOO BAD, so if you can overlook that it is JUST LIKE BRAND NEW!"

Then, these same sellers moan and groan that eBay buyers don't read the descriptions...

exactly no matter how bold your listings are buyers NEVER read the desccription lol
