Creating Account In Public Area

Im currently in college staying in the dorm and cannot change ip addresses due to the security. Would this be a problem for making a stealth ebay account. Also, would you reccommend creating an account in other public places such as a library?

Public networks are never recommended for stealth, if it is your only option, then it is possible.

It is just not ideal!

Some public libraries use the same IP for every computer. Some use dynamic IP and you would have to start recording the IP address you use, the biggest problem about public networks is that you have no control of them and they have likely been used by suspended account before, so e bay may have it blacklisted as a sort of 'hot spot' for users opening new accounts.

Being in control of your enviroment is important in stealth.

In 'college dorms', if you get suspended then so does everyone else, this happened to a few people I know. They had other similar details and got suspended because of one other person.

It COULD be a problem - only way to be sure is to try. If you have the time, might as well but in your shoes, I would not bother with public spots - imagine the amount of possible prior bans and fraud activity...

We are talking about public networks, are you even using a public network?

You should open a thread in one of the discussion sections and make sure it contains all your doubts, questions and fears.

This is the way to go but I am guessing that times are hard as a student.
