Question about shipping to people.

Hi.

I was wondering, if you ship from your house how does that work with ebay stealth?

If you ship something through electronic USPS label printing, is there a company that offers to not show or not use a return address?

Thanks.

You can edit it so it can say whatever you want. Why bother to hide it?

How do you do that if you print directly from e bay? What tool do you use? Can you please pm. Thanks.

Just change it with ms paint 1,2,3

to be clearer

As soon as you buy the label Print it to jpeg with the program called Bullzip

Open and edit the jpeg's address.... In ms paint ofcourse

Thanks Imback. I actually have Adobe Acrobat so I used that to do it. It works fine. One more question (although I don't think it matters that much), do you know what font type and size ebay uses to print the label. I guess I can figure it out by trial and error but thought I can save some trees here. Once again thanks.

I usually wing it with Arial 10 and Bold and never had any post office complaints. but depending on your printer it might be different but I'm pretty sure Arial will do it :)

I used verdana 20 today to create four labels and it looked really good... I retyped name and address. I took them to the post office, no questions, although I don't think the fellow even checked that. Thanks again.

If you expect postal workers to notice the finer details of your shipping experience...well let's just say not always the cream of the crop sadly. Good stuff on the identification of the font though.

TurtleCove 05-14-2011 07:08 PM

I know our postage labels have a bar code of the delivery confirmation number, but there's also another square bar-code type image on these labels....not really a bar code, but a code of some sort.

Anyone know what's stored in that square code?
Delivery address? Sending address? Postage cost?

Thanks so much everyone for the answers! The only problem with endicia is it doesn't accept paypal, and I prefer paypal for payments.

Sorry, I didn't quite understand what you said. So you're saying that they'll hardly even check?

What I'm most worried about is the customers checking and for some reason notifying ebay.

DAILYHUNDRED 05-15-2011 11:57 AM

what I do I print out small labels with my real return address and name and then next to the my name i put the ebay ID i shipped from. I stick the label over the stealth address. Then I tape over the whole label. I have shipped 100's of packages this way Domestic and international and no problems so far

GrannyT 05-15-2011 11:59 AM

Instead of printing the label I print to PDF, open in PS, put in my details and print. Simples:clap:

TurtleCove 05-15-2011 02:24 PM

Is either address stored in the bar code?
Anyone know?

Does it matter?

It can't be. Bar codes need to be installed on the bar code reader.

TurtleCove 05-15-2011 02:39 PM

It matters, if the bar code gets scanned at a facility anywhere along the package route, whereupon some clerk may perform a comparison to what is in the bar code, and what is on the package.

nkwatch 05-15-2011 02:58 PM

Im intrested in this because my packages get returned once a month (Since I Use a method to lower my shipping cost ;) )

Now say my when i printed out my label it said 1234 Main St butI photoshoped it to my my real address 7952 Main st.... If the package comes back to me as rejected what will they go by?
Will they try to deliver to the info thats physically "ON" the package or the info I used when label was printed..?

Sell4more2 05-15-2011 03:02 PM

I use stamps.com and you can edit the return address if you want. You do have to pay a monthly subscription but its worth it if you are going to ship any packages and have many stealth accounts. :) GL!

GrannyT 05-15-2011 03:09 PM

Am I the only one who never gets returned packets? If so, why?:suspicious:

I just wanted to chime in and say I do the same thing and have had no problems so far, but also... no returned packages.

I think that someone should just try this and send it to an address they know is invalid and see what happens.

it'd cost $2.00 to find out.
